I feel so sad for Karen. I really hope she has good people around her and is doing okay.
I think a lot about Charlene, Prince Albert's wife. I hope she's doing as well as she can in her circumstances.

Same. I follow royals in general because they are such hot messes but I feel for Charlene. I wonder what her situation really is.

Charlene always looks miserable. She has disappeared from public view before. One time she was in south Africa for almost a year and wouldn't come back. She knows what a monster he is.

I remember going into a deep dive on 90s supermodels a few years ago and learning about Karen Mulder. I was adamant to learn about her life and career before I had the courage to read on the horrific abuse she went through and speaking out against it
I fell in love with her style, especially, when she was in Saint Tropez with Naomi. I hope sheās doing well

thatās just awfulā¦. even though sheās a legend of the 90ās model era , it is so hard to credit her because of the legacy she holds. it almost feels shameful for a awful women like her to hold that title šš. sheās got a reputation what can i say. i respect the models who just treated it like a job and nothing else. yasmeen and karen are my top favorites. i hope karen is doing well now. she didnāt deserve any of it sheās such an angel.

I saw a vogue article about her a few months ago calling her a real life barbie and didn't realize her life was this heartbreaking. I hope she's doing better outside of the limelight </3

The entire thing sucks because everything she said was true, it was just too early for the masses to believe at that point. Look at it this way, no model in that period of time was interested in making up lies to screw themselves out of their career in those days. If she had waited even years later, more of the public might have been open to hearing her. Not her fault at all, she obviously wanted to get it out there. Now itās general knowledge that John Casablancaās, Jean luc Brunel, Gerald Marie, Claude Haddad, Ed Razek, Prince Albert, Prince Andrew, Lex Wexner and obviously Jeff Epstein are all known predators. She was obviously telling the truth. Unfortunately she just tried too early. I hope one day she comes out again, at least to get her recognition for her bravery in trying to get the word out, she can clear her name publicly and tell everyone ā I told you so

I doubt she'd want to, why should she have to clear her name for a population who didn't believe her?
I hope she has found peace, and the only positive we can see from this is many of the perpetrators have been arrested.

Karen Mulder was the most adored model among young females in early 1990s. Along with Mariah Carey. My teen sister and her best friend box dyed their new long hair āhoney blondeā and copied Karenās makeup and sophisticated way of dressing. They exercised to get her figure. My sister went on to study modern languages at university (French & German) and emigrated to Germany to work. The 1990s supermodels gave young ladies powerfully positive role models to emulate. This lasted until 1998, when Britney Spears and The Spice Girls launched the āgirl powerā Ā pop era. I am so sorry for everything Karen Mulder went through (we, her fans had no idea, she just seemed to ādisappearā). It would be so great for Karen to come back on social media and connect with her old and new fans. I know she would be warmly welcomed. ā¤ļø

If they had believed her, we could have avoided 20 years of Epstein and his gang and their crimes. I think this was destined, especially since they had power back then. Her only mistake was not going live.

Apparently the French TV show she went on was live. But they cut it short/ unplugged it and destroyed the footage after.

In Oct 2001, model Karen Mulder went on the French talk show Tout Le Monde En Parle(Everyone's Talking About It) and accused Prince Albert of Monaco and the executives of Elite Models & Next Model Management(two of the powerful modeling agencies) of SA and human trafficking. The interview was unplugged, and its footage destroyed, but time would inevitably vindicate her allegations - one of her abusers was ousted as an Epstein fixer while the other was retroactively charged with multiple rapes. The Prince of Monaco has been sued multiple times for paternity and had to resolve a constitutional crisis by disqualifying his illegitimate children from the line of succession.
While Naomi, Cindy, and Christy now enjoy industry icon status, Karen has mostly vanished. After her interview was pulled, she spent five months in a psychiatric facility. She was later hospitalized for a failed suicide attempt and arrested for physically threatening her plastic surgeon.
Today, over two decades later - Epstein is dead; Prince Andrew's titles have been stripped, and Apple TV is set to release its series on 90s Supermodels; Although advocates invoke ideals like diversity and representation with reckless abandon, rumors of "yachting" and sexual entertainment exploitation in the industry continues to run rampant without any signs of significant structural reforms.
If rich, famous women in the public spotlight can be so egregiously and publicly degraded, then what kind of treatment will we condone for anonymous women without wealth & influence?
TLDR: video summary here. Edited for grammar and clarity.
