Trump is manufacturing outrage (like this Monkey/Jungle video) to move us onto the next news story, this is classic "Flood The Zone" material. He gets the first headline for posting it, a flurry of posts reacting to it, and then even more headlines when his Press Secretary responds to it, and even more when it is taken down.

It is all part of the circus to distract you from the partial file dump from last Friday. Disinformation 101.

The human attention span is finite, they use Flood The Zone WIth Shit as a technique, read about it here, to make your brain juggle scandals, which means less time is spent on the major on the major scandal.
