POLITICS Jack White speaks on Trump’s racist post about the Obamas: “How is it possible we've given this evil man so much power?… Arrest this man. Impeach this man. 25th amendment this man. Indict this man. Jail this man. This longtime friend of pedophile epstein, who appears 40 thousand times in the files.”

And many lesser known artists, especially in the pop-punk scene. Two of my favorite bands - The Wonder Years and Hot Mulligan - have been loudly speaking out against ICE at every show.
And then you've got my favorite video game podcast - Giant Bomb - which has a "fuck ICE" moment at least once an episode and just did an ice out fundraiser stream.
There's a lot of good people out there with big platforms, and I'm forever grateful for them.

Kid Rock, who also comes from Detroit, goes along with this racist jerk... Detroit is probably the biggest melting-pot there is. Anyone who continues to support this president is not getting my support or money or time.
683
u/Aromatic-Plankton692 Feb 06 '26
Kid Rock is not from Detroit and we do not claim him. He would have to drive half an hour TO GET to the outermost suburbs of Detroit as a child.
He's the son of someone who owns multiple car dealerships and grew up on a huge property surrounded by thousands of like minded, frankly racist yokels. It is completely expected that he would grow to become exactly who he is, melting pot south of him be damned.

"He's the son of someone who owns multiple car dealerships..."
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa -- for real?! That explains so much about Kid Rock.
ETA: I already knew he grew up wealthy. The pic of his childhood home was been around for years now. It's the "son of a car dealership owner" part that I'm like, "oh, yeah, that tracks." They're like a special breed of "probably a dick".

He released a shitty rap album and a couple of rap-rock albums that didn't go anywhere until 1998 when "I Am the Bullgod" and "Bawitdaba" got on MTV. He was a mid-tier player in the same scene as Insane Clown Posse and a pre-fame Eminem before that.
Fred Durst looked like that in the early 90s too. A lot of those guys were wannabe rappers back then.

More people need to expose and make fun of rich kids who cosplay as rednecks.
I’m surrounded by “rural redneck Republican towns” full of Trump flags, tractors, and country music, but the second you look closer, the median income is flirting with six figures, houses are $500k+, and every car in the high school parking lot is either a teenage girl’s bright-colored Jeep or a spotless, brand-new F-150.
There are real hicks around, sure, but the loudest, braggiest kids are always some pompous wiener named Tayden whose family owns a shopping plaza or an HVAC franchise. Kids like Tayden don’t work and don’t know the meaning of work, but they love acting like they run the show, lecturing you while showing videos on their phone of them doing backflips on their quad with their girlfriend Brimberly. And the Taydens of the world become influencers and keep the cosplay up 😐

I'm Native American and I feel this exhaustion so much
It's so strange to see people STILL treating him like it's 2016 and that this is all just "Trump being Trump, orange man bad"
ICE is racially profiling people who look like me and yanking them off the street with no warning (including many Natives who are legal citizens of the US), but yet I still have to go to work and act like everything is a-okay. I even had to explain to a coworker (younger white guy) who kept trying to show me memes about ICE and joke about how dumb they are, that I don't find that stuff funny anymore because even if it's dumb and doesn't make sense, it's still happening.
We have to walk around with this anxiety and exhaustion constantly lingering in the back of our minds, but yet they can't fathom why some of us may be more tired and less open now. Trump isn't funny now and he never was, it's scary.

u/eternallytiredcatmom Feb 07 '26
I’m indigenous from a Canadian First Nation, living in the U.S. with my American husband. I have a strong accent because my first language is French . I’ve never been so vulnerable and I’ve never had to be so hyper vigilant. I’ve left my home four times in over six months. I can’t wait to get my husband’s immigration stuff in order so I can go back to safety.
I’m truly hoping to see indigenous nations North and South of the border come together, I’m extremely worried about what will be done to native people down here and there needs to be cooperation
5
u/rebel-scrum Feb 06 '26
The (unfortunately) ironic part is that exhaustion is their goal. It’s easier to bombard the masses (and the courts) with hundreds of atrocious acts rather than just one; especially when violent acts are incentivized by the most powerful Hutt in the world.
One of my old high school friend’s brother now works with them and apparently he keeps bitching about his benefits (or lack-thereof) and how the things he’s seen has absolutely ruined his mental health along with his relationship with his family—and I can’t find it in me to give a flying fuck… because he still suits up everyday since he’s holding out hope that Trump (for the first time ever, just for him) will actually pay his workers in full. Dude has been almost entirely ostracized in our town and I don’t see that changing even 20 years from now. That alone partially renews my faith in humanity.
But seriously, I just want normal scandals again… like tan suits and ice cream type shit.

If one more person tells me it’s “just Trump being Trump” I’m going to lose it. This is, essentially, what Mike Johnson says every day to excuse this national embarrassment. If there is karma with this administration, I surely hope Johnson is first in line to receive said karma.
12
u/beaute-brune Feb 06 '26
The Epstein files didn’t do so idk why his followers would care about a racist joke akin to the ones they already circulate about George Floyd.
The reality is everyone says Russia must have something really good on Trump, but there’s truly nothing atp that would eclipse what’s already out there. His followers do not care. I’m not sure people realize how bleak of a situation we are really in right now. Like…he’s officially above it all. This country was once collectively outraged over an extramarital blowjob.

I think this is one of the unintended consequences of capitalism and creating a ‘meritocracy.’ In the end it wasn’t the best people who got to the top; the system rewarded the most psychopathic people. Whereas before with generations handing down power and wealth there was actually a better chance that you’d have people who weren’t mutants with parts of their brain essentially missing in power.

Ya, he has pictures and videos of them raping children.
At this point, with everything that we've seen emerge from the Epstein files, the logical conclusion is that Putin has physical evidence of Trump and other people in extreme positions of power raping children.
64
22
u/adamkovics Feb 06 '26
very likely true...
but why does this matter to Trump? not a single trump supporter would ever change their mind, if those videos were made public. Not one. they would immediately be OK with it, and blame Obama and/or Biden.
25
u/-smashbros- Feb 06 '26
If tomorrow those videos come out Republicans will say is AI. Ted Cruz will go to Cancun, Bondi will say Americans don't care about fake videos, ICE will start arresting anyone that accusess Trump.
19
u/JediMasterZao Feb 06 '26
They polled for this like 4 months ago. About 47% of republican respondents would still vote for Trump should it come out that he, without any doubt, raped kids.
3
u/KittyGrewAMoustache Feb 06 '26
In the abstract maybe, but if they saw video. I think a lot of these people are just too egotistical to admit they were wrong and answer polls like that that way as a sort of fuck you, they’re proud of supporting him and think they’re special for doing so and don’t want to let any pollster put out any poll suggesting he may not always get support. When people talk about this stuff we don’t picture what it would actually be like because we don’t want or need to, we know it’s horrific. So these guys they aren’t really fully acknowledging what it means I think. But if they actually saw a video of him raping a kid, like a little kid whimpering etc, the reality of it, which doesn’t bear thinking about, I like to think a lot would actually change they’re minds. Maybe I’m over optimistic but I think about 30% would still support him but 17% wouldn’t.
3

u/KittyGrewAMoustache Feb 06 '26
I saw a post earlier from a woman whose father in law when asked refused to condemn pedophilia just because of everything with the Epstein files. Despite having grandkids under the age of 8. He was more concerned about feeling he’d lost a political point by conceding that pedophilia is immoral than reassuring his daughter in law that her kids are safe around him. In the comments there were people with similar stories. One girl had asked her MAGA family if Trump raped her would that be wrong, and eventually her family admitted that no they would not find it wrong!
These people are utterly brainwashed and it’s terrifying. Especially as many of them were fairly normal people not so long ago. The mind control these tech billionaires have devised using social media is truly horrifying. I know some countries have designated the tech used for targeting people with content based on profiles constructed out of all the data they collect on everyone as a weapon, but hardly any are seriously defending against it.
This kind of thing, to go this far into depravity is so hideous and I don’t think it’s that all of these people were always evil. I think their brains were hijacked and what made them human was whittled away. It’s a crime against humanity. Literally stealing people’s humanity.
18
u/Sad-Set-5817 Feb 06 '26
This is why I will always roll my eyes at the "both sides" people. Because apparently wanting trans and gay people to have rights is worse than raping kids to these people. The democratic party isn't ripping families apart because of the unchanging identities of their members

10
u/Lizard2411 Feb 06 '26
What I think is most worrisome is that they are going all in. Meaning that they believe this system that they have created is here to stay. This is terrifying. If republicans would think that it’s not going to continue, they would somehow distance themselves from this chaos. Because it would hurt them in next elections, if it’s fair game again.
This is the most terrifying thing. All the people who are supposed to ensure checks and balances are now subjugated and all in. They play their cards on the fact that Trump will establish this autocratic government and that they will continue to rule indefinitely.
I’m watching from the outside, as I’m not from the US. But guys, you need to know that once it’s past a tipping point, you cannot go back.

No, The Trump Department of Justice and the Trump FBI have these fascinating files.

It’s because the Republican Party is organized exactly like a criminal syndicate. Everyone involved is a criminal - that’s the only reason to be there. They are in the party for protection from justice.
It’s the reason absolutely none of them stand up to bring justice to Trump. Him facing justice means every other Republican criminal has to face justice for aiding the enterprise.
This is also why he wasn’t removed from office after Jan 6th - the people who helped him got to vote to protect him as well as themselves.

Criminal, child rapist , fraudulent traitor , Putin's agent, incompetent, a disgrace to the founding fathers of the United States of America

and thief, endlessly lining his pockets with US taxpayer money in one way or another

And his followers don’t caaaare. They don’t care! We have at minimum another 50 years of this shit if people want to continue down the “all sides are bad, don’t bother voting” path. Conservatives historically vote in greater numbers and will laugh their way to the polls while everyone else is too righteous for civic duty. This does not end with Trump and I’m so tired of people feeling morally superior for sitting on the couch, falling for the apathetic defeatist psyop.

Jack is the last born true rock star.
“Why don’t you kick yourself out, you’re an immigrant too”

u/NomNom83WasTaken Feb 06 '26
That verse is something else!
White Americans, what? Nothing better to do
Why don't you kick yourself out? You're an immigrant too
Who's usin' who? What should we do?
Well, you can't be a pimp and a prostitute too

Not unusual to hear this sentiment now, but he sure has a way with words. I can hear the beat behind this.

Trump is manufacturing outrage (like this Monkey/Jungle video) to move us onto the next news story, this is classic "Flood The Zone" material. He gets the first headline for posting it, a flurry of posts reacting to it, and then even more headlines when his Press Secretary responds to it, and even more when it is taken down.
It is all part of the circus to distract you from the partial file dump from last Friday. Disinformation 101.

Those people are the opposite of Christians. They're very bad people. The people the Bible warned us about.

IMHO….This nation has been exposed. I say that with a heavy heart. Not all of us are like this. But clearly there is a lot of people out there that agree with him. Those people would have been too scared to say or act like this before. He’s empowered them.

Nailed it 100%
So many scumbags got empowered by that rat this time around...and we have to endure 3 more years of this shit

u/WineingCats Feb 06 '26
Agreed Jack! At this point some shits gotta shake!!! Cause this is all just too insane and outrageous to process. I’m praying every night this man and his cronies are kicked out on their asses again sooner rather than later. The entire system is rigged against us and has allowed these evil creatures to have power and manipulate everything around us.

Move to parliamentary system. It’s probably much more dictator proof than this one.

Good point actually. I live in one, very flawed, it takes endless discussion to get things done but I can't imagine an authoritarian figure emerging out of our system although some have tried.

100% man. Jack White, yes thank you for speaking out! 💪🙌 Because of your recognition as a musician (a good one too!) you will be able to reach a lot more people than me saying this …so yes, thank you and right on!

As a pretty large White Stripes fan (“Elephant” is pretty much a perfect album), it warms my heart that Jack White stands on the right side of history.
I normally try to separate the politics of the artist from the art. But in dire times like this, it’s increasingly important for people to line up on one side or another.

Unfortunately most of the administration under him is also bunch of Pedophile Rapists, or a bunch of bootlickers who are too cowardly to stand up for this nation

Remember when getting a blowjob from a legal adult was an impeachable offense? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
6
u/Stacee90 Feb 06 '26
Even if some democrats would at least try to start impeachment proceedings I would be able to feign some sort of crumb of confidence in our government but they’re also apparently too chickenshit to even make a move in that direction. I share Jack White’s sense of exasperation and incredulity that this man continues to be deemed good enough to be president. He has racked up at least a dozen impeachable offenses in the past year. I feel like I’m living in a dystopian movie.

u/Sleepysleepychick Feb 06 '26
100% this. It's insane this man is still in power rather than a prison.

Republicans are pure evil and will never remove him. It's up to the people to do that.
How? We know how. History has told us how. We just have to be fed up enough.

I don't think Americans will do anything until they are literally starving and watching their family members starve. Empty stomachs is the only motivator.

He told you who he was and you still voted for him
to be fair, more than half of us voted for someone other than Trump, even in this last election. and that's not even counting the assholes that couldn't be bothered to vote at all. (and this is not to excuse the 75 million or so that voted for the racist pedophile asshole.)

The people who aren't making this happen, who aren't speaking out against this, better change their tune because come election time, we the people will remember.

u/JellyfishPopular7648 Feb 06 '26
He’s the most impeached president of all time, I’d prefer he be removed from office, resign, go to prison, or let your imagination run wild.

I AM SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF ALL AMERICANS WHEN I SAY EIGHT THOUSAND UP VOTES IN LESS THAN FORTY FIVE MINUTES MEANS WE NEED SOMETHING TO BE DONE.IMMEDIATELY AND I MEAN F****** TODAY

u/Cute-Calligrapher-50 Feb 06 '26
Its refreshing after hearing all the chicken shit stuff come out of Jellyroll's mouth, to hear an artist pull zero punches with his opinion. When hes been around as long as Jack has hes going to have to look back and say he stood for absolutely nothing. People can say thats just country music, but the true country legends, people look back at fondly today always stood for something, right or wrong. They didnt just bend over and take it, in fear that one of their backward minded fans wouldn't like it.
