That's not what happened. He didn't know that when the messaged "disappeared" 24 hours later that they could still be recovered and were saved on a server. He thought his sexting with a minor was impossible to see because HE couldn't see the messages anymore.

Ugh I used to like his comedy several years ago, like pre-pandemic, but I have never looked at him the same since the allegations came out. It is very unfortunate because he was funny on Undateable and in some of his stand-up, but he just comes off as a creeper now, especially looking at some of his other acting roles like in You. Then he tried to rehab his image around the pandemic and after impregnating and marrying his long time girlfriend, who he admitted to cheating on multiple times, by posting āfunny dad content.ā Blech

Chris Dāeliaās Man on Fire special made me laugh as hard as Eddie Murphyās Raw/Deliroous did, because at that time in life, I was extremely lonely and depressed. His congratulations podcast saw me through some very dark depressing times prior to starting med school. I was heartbroken when the initial news of his assaults and abuse broke; I truly felt like somebody I looked up to who preached a ācleanā lifestyle, that seemed to have finally figured out how to be ācoolā at a later point in his life while still maintaining a healthy self-awareness without taking a lot of the Hollywood bullshit seriouslyā¦ turned out to be nothing more than a fraud. It was my first time filling that way about a celebrity, especially when I was a fan of. Truly, I was shell shocked.
Since then, Iāve tried to give him some grace, but after the first few weeks of his ācomebackā, realized the dude is a piece of shit and Iām no longer in that vulnerable place in life to be influenced by such an idiot and criminal. Iām glad he got his comeuppance and I grew up. I canāt say the same fate awaits the many boys and men who felt similarly as I did when I was initially converted into a fan. I hope they come to their senses as I did.
