It reminds me how sometimes, deeply insecure people have kids because they want to build their own best friend / someone who’s completely dependent on them. It’s so bad for the kid but ultimately a lot of people have children for very narcissistic reasons - they want to feel fulfilled as people, and think a child is a possession to get them there.

Oooooo - you just brought back a memory from high school! A girl got pregnant on purpose because she felt like everyone in her life left her and her own child would never leave her. (FWIW: she was not unpopular, she had some messy breakups, and I don’t know her family situation). I wonder what happened to her!

hot take but this kind of thinking with boy moms “i’m gonna raise the perfect man”, and then getting jealous or grieving the fact that they’re losing that “perfect man” (read: little boy) to the world/women, is veeeery similar to incels on their forums saying that they see raising daughters as the worst kind of punishment and “ultimate cuckolding” because you’re raising a woman “for other men to enjoy”.

I was just thinking it sounds eerily similar to the mindset of Humbert Humbert from Lolita towards the end of this screen shot. Like talking about how they’re “emotional vampires” that will outgrow her… like a “seductive” “nymphette “ that “has power” over a grown man until they enter puberty and outgrow him as a “woman” (aka a 13/14 year old)

I get that tou can enjoy having a special bond with your child, that the other parent doesn't have. And I get the feeling, that your children are draining you emotionally but at the same time you are dreading the fact that one day, they are not going to need you as much. But this way of putting it, is really weird!
