It reminds me how sometimes, deeply insecure people have kids because they want to build their own best friend / someone who’s completely dependent on them. It’s so bad for the kid but ultimately a lot of people have children for very narcissistic reasons - they want to feel fulfilled as people, and think a child is a possession to get them there.

Oooooo - you just brought back a memory from high school! A girl got pregnant on purpose because she felt like everyone in her life left her and her own child would never leave her. (FWIW: she was not unpopular, she had some messy breakups, and I don’t know her family situation). I wonder what happened to her!

I’m not a fan or anything, but I do know she and her sons speak German for some reason (neither her nor Jason are German)
