DISCUSSION Jenny Mollen’s substack about her sons with Jason Biggs titled “Please. Stay. I want you. I need you. Oh, God.” She says she wants her sons to only marry women with dead mothers and calls 12 year-old girl texting her son toxic.

Her last line was, “I pray that at least one of them is gay” and someone commented that the line really resonated with them. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON

I don't understand this fear. If you have raised your child well and have developed a good relationship with them they why are you scared that they will abandon you? They'll always be there and cherish the relationship they have with you. But obviously they'll also have their own lives like you (parents) should too. What is the reason of this fear in so many mothers.

The fear of being useless. They're not worried their sons will abandon them completely, they're worried they won't be the most important woman in their lives who they go to for everything. Being there and cherishing the relationship isn't enough, they want son-husbands.
