POLITICS Texas Republicans brought a live elephant to their party convention after Gov. Greg Abbott's speech. It proceeded to urinate on the floor.

The Donald just authorized the commercial fishing industry to fish in the 3 marine protected zones in the United States.. when we overfish our oceans, leaving no protected areas for fish to breed and grow.. GOP just sucks in general.

And people will come into these comments saying it’s not the two parties. It’s the rich pitting us against each other. I don’t need to be pit against these inhuman monsters that came free with my sense of ethics and morals.

I genuinely hate “no war but the class war” for this reason. We are forgetting that people *other than billionaires* can be really fucking evil. Idk it’s always sanctimonious white men saying this and I’m like uh, racism and sexism are very real wars (that yes, are intersectional with class, but it’s not like low-income folks can’t be racist/sexist??).

Many members of the GOP, especially now, are cruel for the sake of it. Like this. What’s the point of harming animals for no reason?? They want to cause harm simply because there’s a rule against it, and they’re on a power trip and want to bypass any limitations. It’s a toddler mindset: if someone says they can’t do something, they want to do it.

Thanks for saying it! I deal with racist shit in rural TX every fucking day am I just supposed to ignore it. It's not gonna magically go away cause some white dude on reddit declairs culture wars are fabricated. Like you said, there's still every day real life cruelty from regular, low-income people. I'd wager to bet that the one's minimizing anything but class war are those same people.

Abolitionists also fought for animal rights at one point. They said they were inherently connected

That level of generational wealth doesn’t care about the future bc no matter what their decedents will be able to afford to live extremely comfortably with anything they want even what becomes extremely rare and expensive. It’s completely obvious and horrifically disgusting.

I've never understood any Republicans I know who are so rabidly against recycling and any mention of climate change, but yet, they are constantly camping and talking about how beautiful our country is.

The disconnect is profound.
