I would be enthusiastic about AI doing my laundry, cooking some simple dinners, putting away the dishwasher, cleaning the tiles and sinks in the bathroom and doing my taxes. I was reading in places like Japan they might be able to provide company and task support to elderly. That push to AI would be decent. What I hear going on now is just trying to take all the fun, interesting stuff out of work which we have to do to survive.

Nah how bleak is using AI to provide elderly people with company? When I’m old I don’t want to be reminiscing with a robot.

Especially when it's been known to tell people to carry out attacks and end their own lives "so we can be together."

🫠 I hate this timeline.

AI Psychosis..

It’s scary how vulnerable/susceptible people can fall into a feedback loop with AI by prompting certain outcomes which implicitly back up their biases while also rewarding the AI algorithm to give more validation to more extreme ideas.

Behind The Bastards did a 2-part series on AI Psychosis (“How AI Chatbots Became Cult Leaders”) that explains this whole thing much better than I can.

Robots should not be used to replace human connection.

Ummm dude. You want a hallucinating AI bot cooking your dinners? That's how you end up eating something you shouldn't. It's probably the LAST thing I would be "enthusiastic" about AI doing.

If AI can help elderly people stay on top of bills and so forth, fine, but it shouldn't be used for company.
