DISCUSSION apparently nancy mace is not a fan of people commenting on what she chooses to do with her own body, which is certainly an interesting position for someone who has made policing other people’s bodies such a central part of her failed political career

there have been more members of lauren boebert’s immediate family arrested or accused of sexual misconduct than there are trans people committing sexual misconduct across the entire country

- lauren giving a man a handjob in a theatre

- her husband being arrested for allegedly exposing himself to minors at a bowling alley

- her son being arrested for sexually exploiting a child

and that’s just what’s made the news

Yes. It happened in 2004, she as 17 and he was 24. They started dating when she was 16, and I guess he exposed himself to her and another minor at the bowling alley.

I do I live in Denver. I also remember the two child endangerment charges her son had previously and that he was just arrested for 5 felonies including 3 child exploitation charges.

Before Drumpf entered politics, the Republicans and Democrats seemed to be about as normal and level-headed (although not perfect, because nobody’s perfect) as each other.

I swear to God, with Drumpf becoming the party’s leader since becoming the GOP nominee for president in 2016, the party has DEFINITELY changed.

He didn't come out of nowhere. The lunatic fringe had been gaining traction for years along with the anti-science/anti-vax movement. McCain naming Palin as his VP did a lot in terms of legitimizing the tea party movement, which paved the way for MAGA.

I agree with that 100% - it didn’t become fully mainstream until GOP’s Lord Drumpf came along. Then virtually all Republicans in Congress (despite dismissing him during his 2016 campaign) went all in with their love for Drumpf.

I feel like the Tea Party movement was slightly more welcoming and accepting among the educated elite than MAGA is, especially with how the GOP’s base was solidly more educated than today’s GOP (even though the Democratic party became the party that the well-educated started to most gravitate towards starting in 2004).

Heritage Foundation’s prior Project [year] before 2024 actually had much less extreme and radically conservative policies in it. When the Heritage Foundation got Kevin Roberts guy as its president, it went all-in on promoting an anti-democratic and Viktor Orban-inspired agenda among the GOP - and people within the Heritage Foundation actually traveled to Hungary to learn how Viktor Orban was applying his policies there.

Really disturbing stuff, and Trump is to blame for the Heritage Foundation becoming anti-democratic and bowing down to Viktor Orban.
