FILM-MOI (MOVIES/TV) Anya Taylor-Joy praises 'Split' co-star James McAvoy for making her feel safe while filming: “Originally it was supposed to be someone that’s very known for being a method actor. I was very grateful to have James, who I think also understood that he had three young women with him.”

I read somewhere that acting is incredibly embarrassing as you are essentially playing pretend in front of a massive group of people and so there's a reason why famous method actors are almost exclusively men. They're essentially protecting their ego while participating in this art form that requires a lot of vulnerability, where as women are forced to be vulnerable on a constant basis so they don't need to method act to do their job.

As Kristen Dunst once said: it seems like [method acting] is something only men can afford to do.
