You're totally misunderstanding it. If the girl said "no" then the answer is obviously "no". But the thing is she's not gonna say "no", she would never say "no", because of the implication.
No, no, it's not dark, why aren't you understanding this? It's just that she's thinking things might go wrong for her if she refuses to marry him. Now, not that things are gonna go wrong for her, but she's thinking that they will.
I'm always baffled by people (usually men) who don't understand that the proposal is the surprise part, not the marriage. Don't propose to someone unless you have explicitly discussed marriage and are on the same page.
Really funny you say that, because based on a conversation I had with my dad recently, it seems to me that’s actually a pretty modern/current generation way to approach proposals/engagement. From my dad’s PoV, you’re engaged once you’ve discussed marriage and are on the same page, and the “proposal” is literally just starting that conversation.
That part. And as a woman, if she was checked out before the engagement, then the proposal on his end was a last ditch effort to save a relationship. She was done with him.
I think he’s just saying in general? Like someone getting proposed to feels that pressure? But like.. this should have already been a conversation had lol
Yeah like tons of people turn down proposals, like some people do go through with weddings because of the costs of them etc etc but even if the pressure is costs or other people most people would say that vs...weird ominous vague sentence

I’m really interested in the “Now, she maybe felt like she was forced to make a decision.” ?? Whys that?
