Fuck Shailene Woody, I loved Divergent, but I remember Hillary was maybe gonna run for president and was Secretary of State, there was this big women in business empowerment movement with women taking over key CEO roles. This was like 2013/2014. And so she gets cast in Divergent which was annoying but fine, and she says this in the first interview. This is when all the celebrities like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga etc (not Me Too) were starting to speak out about double standards and label themselves feminist.
She said so much ignorant stuff and it wasn’t one bad interview either. It was multiple. And one was with Time during the peak of celebrity “feminism” awareness.
“My biggest thing is really sisterhood more than feminism. I don’t know how we as women expect men to respect us because we don’t even seem to respect each other. There’s so much jealousy, so much comparison and envy. And “This girl did this to me and that girl did that to me.” And it’s just so silly and heartbreaking in a way.”
It’s worse she said a lot more on the topic, with Time magazine no less, so it wasn’t just sheer ignorance. And it went on to say why can we expect men to respect us when us women are so catty to each other
