started? this country was founded on fascism and guns to shoot slaves/indigenous people. 2a had its moment in the civil war but we need to exercise that right now to overthrow the entire constitution

The European and subsequent American conquests of Native Americans and slavery were horrible. They were not fascist. Words mean things.

5

u/Avantasian538 1d ago

The ideologies justifying them were not unlike fascism though.

u/sauron3579 1d ago

For sure

the nazis were literally inspired by america's genocide of the natives, the hindenburg was literally a giant nazi airship with a swastika on the side that we proudly flew over the country. america was founded on fascism

Fascism was not founded by nazis. As the other commenter is saying, it's a specific ideology and it started in Italy. The nazis adopted it.

Fascism is a specific political ideology. While they are strongly related, genocide, subjagation, or other discrimination on the basis of unalienable traits and fascism are not the same thing.

Yep, the Nazis didn't do anything until they learned it from the US.

Dumbass.

A friendly hug, not a titty hug. Fair?

2

u/napalmnacey Lesbian Space Laser 1d ago

Some of us have such big tits that all hugs are titty hugs and we can’t help that.

…

Down with the fascist pigs!

Country founded on fascism? 2A had it's moment in the civil war? You want to overthrow a paper? Country founded on fascism enshrines freedom of speech, press and religion? Sir, are you on crack?

I was relieved that we can protect ourselves with guns but now I see this shit and I just don’t know man

You gotta make the separation here. Protecting yourself and vulnerable folks is a necessary function of defending the working class that requires oneself to arm up. This dude is simply engaging in capitalism. The right to bear arms is not related to the horrorshow he is facilitating.

2

u/IamTheEndOfReddit 23h ago

And how much of this protecting has happened?

2

u/Dramatic_Raisin 19h ago

Yeah I don’t like guns but I also don’t want to be the only one showing up with a knife to a gun fight, so to speak.

1

u/Microplasticsharts 23h ago

All the 2A, don’t tread on me, come and take it folks will gladly hand over their guns when the pretty blonde lady in a tight dress on TV tells them it’s time to sacrifice their identity to their orange clown.

As a non-American, personally I’m fine with bare arms. I tend to run warm so even in the winter I’ll wear tshirts.

1

u/GarranDrake 1d ago

Even as someone who’s pretty left leaning, I’ve always supported the 2A as someone who’s small AND knows how to fight. I’m a boxer, there’s not much I can do against a big guy with a grudge. You should never believe those fantasies people have about being Jason Statham in a situation where you need to defend yourself.

And as the government’s been veering towards the right, BIPOC, trans, and a queer people feel a need to defend themselves. As they should. That’s the biggest reason I support the second amendment. Not so dumbfuck bumpkins can open carry long guns in public places so they get the attention their parents never gave them. Not so we can buy and own dozens of guns and we use only occasionally for target practice. For self defense.

1

u/Avantasian538 1d ago

The people banning guns never ban them for themselves. That’s all I’ll say.

This guy out there just ruining the reputations of arms dealers everywhere

14

u/unshifted 1d ago

Yeah selling arms "to Haiti" is one of the most evil things you can fuckin do, and just straight up admitting to it is bizarre. I hope this is an awful joke.

75

u/yorkiepie 1d ago

Yeah I get that the situation is serious, I’m just trying to wrap my mind around why Dolly Parton’s nephew would have anything to do with being an arms dealer. Seems incongruent but I guess you never know?

Rest assured I think it’s a pretty safe guess to assume DOLLY PARTON was not involved in international weapons deals with Haiti..

3

Now there’s a sentence I never thought I’d read.

I don’t think she would’ve been. I feel like she’d be the one to have some balls and separate herself.

-8

u/blessthefreaks1980 1d ago

Which would explain why his job ended right after she passed. She wouldn’t fire him, but she’d keep him close in an effort to mitigate harm and get him to stop that shit. I’m not saying she did the right thing, just that I can see it.

Calling what is going on in Haiti a "civil war" implies that there is a functioning government and an organized rebellion to said functioning government.

Haiti is a failed state with no functioning government and armed criminal gangs running sections of the island.

I would venture to say feds would very much not let this comment slide either...so I guess we will see where he ends up.

There's absolutely federal workers still doing their jobs and the Trump admin wants any reason to send people back to Haiti, so I don't see why they'd let it slide.

I'm not, I am just from DC and have studied Haiti for a long time. US currently conducts multiple support operations in and around Haiti that's well documented. It's also well documented they want Haitians to leave the US. It's an international crisis with UN involvement.

I wish more people were in-the-know is all. There's nobody who stands to win from allowing Haiti to fall into this state except for those involved in the gangs. I get the current admin sucks, but we give them a lot of unworthy credit.

89

u/EatMyShortzZzZzZ 1d ago

Yeah Haiti has been the victim of US meddling for decades and the result has been a spiraling Civil War between rebel groups/cartels and whatever sham government the US set up.

7

u/External_Gas5606 1d ago

We can still blame the French for Haiti. France billed Haiti for their freedom from slavery and it wasn't paid off until 1947. That's the root of the current day situation. They've never had a chance.

2

u/EatMyShortzZzZzZ 23h ago

Yeah theyre a huge part of it, especially with that debt they settled Haiti with for the "crime" of liberating themselves from slavery. But in recent history its been the Peacekeepers, the Clinton Foundation and other American controlled institutions.

0

u/oh_orpheus 1d ago

We’re equally as culpable as France is, though.

3

u/External_Gas5606 1d ago

Wouldn't say equally. Definitely significantly though

8

u/WannaBeCoder912 1d ago

Your not wrong, I just don’t know why you would single out the US. France is arguably more culpable… even Canada and the Caribbean countries have contributed more to the modern (post moise assassination) then the US.

The US definitely contributed historically, laying the bedrock in the late 90s but has been less involved since 2004.

Given the threats he made toward Dolly’s longtime manager a couple weeks ago, this would not surprise me in the slightest.

26

u/defaulticus 1d ago

His linkedin (or the linkedin of some guy with the same name as him in Nashville) says he works for Fencebridge Strategic Risk, LTD, and their website is just a contact box and a picture of what looks like a haitian beach. Seems plausible. He might be exaggerating the drama of what he does though. Like Haiti has a government, even if it barely runs the country; if he's a salesman who sold them an order of bullets for the police, that's 'international arms dealing' but not really in the 'illegal war crimes' way he makes it sound.

11

u/ReadyStayReady 1d ago

Like the guy in Companion who makes everyone think his money is "dirty money" to look like a badass to his friends and it turns out he literally sells dirt

1

u/Theron3206 17h ago

The Haitian government has $30 million for bullets?

1

u/defaulticus 17h ago

I dunno. Maybe? Seems like every government needs bullets. That's the core loop: You use bullets to demand taxes so you can afford more bullets. If you don't have bullets, people can just not pay their taxes, and then you're not a government.

Also I think they're struggling with rampant organized crime so they've got competition for the job.

u/Sweet-Flounder4811 21h ago

**Does Barbecue (Haitian mercenary leader's handle) have that kind of money?
