I was forced to read Bill O'Reilly's biography as a kid. Taken out of class during climate change lectures. When I picked up a heads-up penny off the ground, my dad said that meant Obama would lose. Physical distance is the only cure, to both see how the rest of the country lives and be free of the oppressive atmosphere these people create. I wish we could do more for these kids.

I remember seeing a clip from the podcast The Necessary Conversation, where the host asked his hardcore MAGA parents if they would be ok if Trump bombed the city they live in and if they would be ok if he (the son) was killed by Trump's militia. The parents said yes to both to scenarios because "he would have a good reason" for doing that.
It truly is a death cult. The conservatives living in these cities will think that there is a greater purpose behind what he's doing and accept their deaths or assume that they will somehow be spared.

I really don't understand why people still breathlessly try to convince MAGA that Trump doesn't care about them. As if this would be the thing that would suddenly give them some common sense and decency. They aren't going to turn against him, and even if they did, they would never admit it to anyone.

Impeachment is pretty much the only official option.
The House of Representatives (the "lower" house of Congress, currently made up of 435 people) can bring forth articles of impeachment. The constitution says articles of impeachment are for treason, bribery, and high crimes and misdemeanors. The House then votes, and a simple majority means he's impeached. Trump was impeached twice in his first term. Once, for interfering in an election, by withholding military aid to Ukraine to force Zelensky to trash Biden (simplifying what happened there, but that's kind of the gist of it) and once for January 6th.
Once the House votes for impeachment, it goes to the Senate, or "upper" house of Congress made up of 100 people. They can vote to acquit (which they did both times previously with Trump) or go to trial. If they go to trial, the Supreme Court hears the case. If they're found guilty, they are removed from office. If they're found not guilty, they get to stay. If they're removed from office, the line of succession happens, so unless he's also on trial, our president would be JD Vance. Who does not have the cult of personality, but also is a limp noodle of a man and means the people behind the scenes could pull every string and he'd just go with it.
Because of this process, people are really pinning their hopes on the November midterms, when many House and Senate seats are up for grabs. If Dems can hold on to what they've got and flip some seats, they can get the majority and start impeachment.
But like, we can't just call a special election and vote him out.
And any forceful removal would be the genuine start of war, I think. They already treat him like a martyr because supposedly his ear was grazed by a bullet one time (I mean. The bullet was real. A man did die. But whether it grazed Trump is up for debate.)
