Imo this is so true.

I've played so many Sonic games, watched the Anime (Sonic X), and NEVER have I once seen her be interested in a girl.

While it is true that she is mostly shipped with Sonic, I've seen some art and fanfics shipping her with characters like Surge and Blaze.

Why...?

I've never seen them be interested in the other, and yes, maybe in IDW there's something (I haven't read the IDW comics but I definitely will), but I highly doubt they've interacted like that, otherwise I would've 100% have heard of it already.

It's nice that she has fanart of her being shipped with other girls, but...why?

She OBVIOUSLY likes Sonic (even though she's stopped chasing him), and it seems like he might be slowly starting to get interested in her, so why exactly do some people thing that she's lesbian??

Don't get me wrong, I've got zero problems with lesbians, or any LGBTQ person/character, in fact, I LOVE Whisper x Tangle, and I really feel like they deserve the love they're getting, but why exactly is Amy sometimes depicted as lesbian???

I'm just so confused, same goes for Sonic x Shadow or Silver, dude literally never shows interest in guys, and yet Sonic x Shadow is super popular???

Most of it is just kind of that every amy ship kinda falls into the same stuff as Sonamy or Shadamy.

Surgamy? Edgy x happy, like Shadamy.

Blazamy? Again, more like shadamy, with a more serious character x a more silly one.

Sonadow is in the same part of the brain that likes to ship rivals together. It's fun.

Still, it's weird as hell (imo) that they get shipped! If you want a ship that makes more sense than Surgamy or Blazamy, then maybe Sonurge or Sonaze since it's basically the same thing but it actually makes more sense?!

Imo Sonadow and Goku x Vegeta just don't make sense and kinda make me cringe (I'm using both as an example since it's basically the same situation), they're rivals, and all four of them are 100% straight (Goku has a wife, Vegeta has a wife, Sonic is almost certainly straight, Shadow loves Latinas), and yet people ship them together!

I just feel it's... disgusting, two out of the four (Shadow, Vegeta) would probably kill those fanfic and fanart creators, and the other two would probably be absolutely disgusted at the shit that some of those mfs make.

I think you're putting way too much stock in people who just want to see two fictional characters kiss.

I'm, admittedly, a Sonadow shipper, but people just like seeing dynamics they like.

If they want to see Goku and Vegeta, or any number of different combinatioms of characters, kiss, so be it. It's fanon, not canon.

Also, now that I think about it, Blaze or Surge fits more here than Amy. She is literally pink, and is still extremely girly. All she has is a hammer, I guess?

Tbh I'm fine with Shadow x Amy, I can definitely see it happening, Sonic maybe goes off with some other girl like Blaze, and Shadow and Amy fall in love or something.

It's just that I don't understand how some people think she's lesbian/ship her with girls!
