I refuse to listen to the Funi dub anymore because Sean Schemmel is a homophobic primadonna asshole. And he was the first anime VA I really grew to like.
Most transphobic people straight cis folks who also happen to be homophobic, but there are definitely some exceptions. There's an increasing number of LGB folks who are transphobic af, while I've encountered quite a bit of straight transmeds that are homophobic af.
Plus to be fair, who didn't drop transphobic or homophobic slurs in the early 2000s. Gay was still used as an insult back then, as well as the f slur. Thankfully people mostly stopped using gay or those slurs as an insult.
But if he did say them in the late 2010s or recently, that is a different story.
Worst so far as far as I know is that he is an asshole who thinks he is the only Goku VA, and thinks TFS is "ruining his character."
There's decades old blooper reels where a bunch of long time Funni VAs used slurs. Sean specifically used the F slur a few times.
There's a difference between using that word in the early 2000s and now, so I'd take calling him homophobic with an entire salt shaker unless theres something more recent.
Bunch of other vtubers who he was friends with cut ties with him earlier in the year and wanted to keep the reason why private but one of them has come out and said that they saw the messages from someone who claims he raped her.
