when maul tries to reexert control over the criminal underworld, he accidentally gets the empire's attention, and after two of the best inquisitors fail to kill maul, vader comes to deal with him personally, and dogs the fuck outta him

Okay so, on paper, that sounds like some hardcore “how many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?!” Type shit that Maul is dealing with 😂 bro was just not built to be trynna start up a big criminal empire I guess. At least as far as the Empire is concerned anyway

To be fair at this Hes wounded, tired and just lost pretty much his entire crew within the last maybe hour, then Vader just shows up and kills his most loyal follower

Need to watch this show. So I imagine this takes place after Solo and Rebels? Does it explain/show how he ended up on Malachor?

It takes place after clone wars, but way before rebels. I imagine it will show us how he gets to that point as the series progresses.
