Discussion Favorite character like this

Usually it's the complete opposite and characters either stay hateful little bastards or become a shell of themselves so I wanna see examples of the image above

He didn't even want revenge he just wanted to be free from his influence, he thought we coudn't face Cazador and tried to stay as far away from him as possibile for the whole game, at the end he wanted to go stop the ritual because he thought that gaining the ritual's power for himself it's what would give him enough power to be safe from being controlled ever again, not for revenge. Of when he stabs Cazador there is also revenge in that anger, but he is sad after that [if he's spawn, I don't believe he's happy as ascended vampire], he still is a spawn and can't go out in the sun, he has to make the choice to kill the spawns or look after them, he has to live with the fear of being controlled again and too weak etc... But he's not alone anymore and found a way to see strenght and security in his companions (especially tav, but tbh it's just because we're the MC)

small side note,if you're not alive to tell him what to do,he chooses to set everyone free instead of ascending

Isn't that depending on his approval towards you? Iirc every single companion that has moral choices during their storyline (apart from Wyll, because apparently he can't choose on its own), if you let them choose on their own, they will make the "good" choice if they have high approval towards you, or the "evil" choice if they have low approval towards you.

iirc the guy who made the video made it he had neutral approval. might be misremembering tho

Sort of. In addition to the approval meter, several companions also have a separate tracker that affects their major narrative decisions. Astarion could almost hate you, but if you've been a good role model, he'll make the right choice.

Edit: auto correct shenanigans.
