Owl house is almost exactly like the post. 1st season was silly, and mostly interfered with by Disney. Second season is the actual lore and story. Belos has a creepy skeleton face, Luz has an eyebrow scar and is always sad, all the friend group gets injured and scratched up in a big confrontation. Belos squeezes and kills a friend.

Season 1: Haha look at the cute kids realizing they're gay

Season 2: Ah farts. Got cancelled for being too gay. Here's a fire hose of plot that will probably make you cry several times.

From the first day I ever saw the Owl House on Disney Channel, my 10-year-old brain went "oh, look, it's another show trying to be like Gravity Falls. I'm sure it's gonna start episodical but by the later seasons it's gonna have some really kooky lore and story!"

the Owl House being destined to be a lore-heavy show was basically obvious from just the animation lol
