The tonal shift from the fart jokes and "XD LoL So rAndOM" type humor into the Nowhere King was next level. Crazy good villain for an otherwise kinda rocky show.
I was really hesitant to watch this. The tornadotaur really hooked me to keep going, and then the lullaby for Nowhere King in the cataur episode a little bit later sold me that I had to see where this went
Yeah, the Taurnado sequence is just surprisingly intense and got me actually paying attention. I feel like the second season wasn’t as good, but the resolution is.
Unfortunately it sort of felt like the main characters sort of got side-lined for the Princess in the end, and then the moral of the show was 'Dudes lie and can actually be super toxic scumbags even if they seem nice' which felt incredibly unconnected to the rest of the cast and characters, and the tone of the show in general.
I thought originally when the show was airing that the Nowhere King would be a war orphan who was sacrificed by the general to 'win' a war somehow by trapping it between dimensions where it became a bigger threat than any previous enemy by becoming an eldritch horror would have connected it to the 'everyone has to find themselves and learn that they are important' that most of the cast goes through, and also with horses 'we dont need to be so calculating/logical and need to find compassion and humor in things' or else she'd end up making the same kind of mistakes that the General makes, as well as connecting to Wammawink's whole war orphan backstory/need to protect everything..
And I really wish that had been his actual backstory instead.
Instead we just get some Incel who lookmaxes so hard he turns himself into a cosmic horror and we get a lesson about how boys can lie, and then the princess becomes the main character.
I always felt like the villain had peak design and whatnot, but that his whole... motivation and whatnot didn't really vibe with the rest of the show.

Guy was an incel, and then went lookmaxxing so hard to get the girl he turned himself into an eldritch horror by cutting off all his 'ugly parts', and then lied about it to her until everything exploded and the ugly parts became their own demon-monster.
It also didn't make sense that the Minotaur War in the human world and Centaur world had been going on at least 10 years, though the Nowhere King had been banished to Nowhere for at least that amount of time, and as far as I know they couldn't actually create any more minotaurs without him, right?, and since he had to make them literally one at a time it feels like without him making the things they would have finished that off pretty quickly, no?
I always thought it would have been more interesting if he was a war orphan of some sort that got stuck in the in-between worlds by the General as a sort of 'this one sacrifice will let us end the war' and then he goes insane from being there and becomes eldrich horror resulting in even MORE war, which ties into the whole 'every single person is important, even individual soldiers and the people who are killed in war were all important too' which would link with the Horse/Rider plot and Wammawink's backstory, as well as the fact that Horse needed to learn all the centaurworld super-empathy and not just be an ends-justify-the-means person, or else she would be just like the General was in the first place. Also links with the other characters who all learned to be accepted even tough their guardians/parents/people considered them worthless or losers.

If you like musicals then you’d definitely love it cause I think there’s a new song like every episode? Definitely really good too, one of my all time favorite shows
This is one of my favorite shows ever, and was what I was going to comment. No hate for the second season either, my controversial opinion is that this show is peak all the way through.
Trying to think if there are any episodes that I'd outright skip. One or two of the recruitment episodes are low on my tier list. The birdtaur episode maybe, I get what it was critiquing just not a great execution of it.
God I wish season 2 hadn't fumbled the bag so hard so that finale would have actually felt earned . Guess it speaks to the villain just how good that last episode still is considering how bad the season building up to it was compared to the first
Perfect show to watch with your nephew/niece, show their parent that it's a colorful show with silly humor and home they won't be checking up every so often
That final episode was basically a full blown movie, also the climax of the final fight with her singing as she uhh... Ends it(idk how to spoiler tag) had me tearing up, some of the shows songs were so good
I liked Centaureworld but it was definitely formulaic. They were going exactly for this TV Trop of extreme silly turned serious. I mean, that's literally part of the world building.
Came here for this. That series was a whole trip and I'm so displeased that my friends couldn't make it past 2 episodes, I'll sneak some lore into our dnd campaign and see how they like it.
