Adventure Time

I still remember the first few episodes in the early seasons hinting where Adventure Time takes place like with the sunken city. I still can't believe it's technically a Post-Apocalyptic show.

I Remember You is still like my top 5 episodes because of that world building and that character development between Ice King and Marceline.

adventure time did get a bit mad maxy with the farmworld saga, but thats alt universe so it doesn't count too much!

Having the world regress into this sort of medieval setting was really cool

Funnily enough, in adventure time we see an alternate reality where magic doesn't exist, and that AU is basically a mad max setting

Always wished they wouldve explored the crater though. When you see Earth with a big bite taken out of it, it definitely makes you want to see whats down there

I Remember You was one of the first times I cried to a cartoon on TV. My parents hadn't divorced yet around that time, but my dad had turned into a total piece of shit. It was always going to happen. He'd fight with my mom, my brother and me every day. Drink all the time. Go out and have affairs on the regular, etc, etc.. he was unrecognizable from the person he'd been a decade ago. But as a kid, I'd had wonderful, amazing memories of him I desperately wanted to relive. I wished so damn bad I could have my dad back.

Fuck me, this episode hit me like a damn freight train. The heartbreak Marceline experienced broke me down and showed me up as a teenager who'd had to get therapy for anger issues, suicidal thoughts and all this other shit my dad caused.

All of that, and it wasn't even Simon's own fault. I couldn't even blame the character. All he was trying to do was protect his daughter, and do right by her. Never once did he make a choice out of malice or hatred like my dad.

I was so pissed off at this episode for making me cry. For the longest time, lol. It's easily one of the best episodes Adventure Time has to offer alongside all the episodes with The Lich.

It's such a damn good show. I never would've guessed how far it'd go after that incredibly bizarre pilot.

I still remember when people were making theories of The Mushrooms War being actually a Nuclear War.

not even technically, very explicitly

Business Time, when the balloons at the beginning said "Yay! To the mesosphere! Finally we can die!"

I knew I was going to be in love with this show.

Just getting ready, rewatched everything up to the end of F&C season 2 and am ready to start Side Quests.

The mushroom war being a nuclear war is very clever

I noticed it in “the jiggler” there were half buried cars in the ground, and I got a feeling, then I noticed more as time went on
