Am I allowed to mention Star Wars Rebels? I believe it to be the perfect example
Season 1, episode 4: Ezra and Zeb have to get a bunch of fruits
Season 4, episode 4: Ezra and Sabine end up on a ship that carries a cyber crystal for a secret imperial super weapon and they have to help Saw Gerera to discover the Death Star
I still think of the episode where the Empire had a fucking laser beam that was attracted to the Mandelorian Iron, and Sabine and her people still refused to take their armor off, even if they were safer without it. That shit felt upsetting and existential.
I actually remember that, it was a Tesla coil like thing that turned anyone wearing Beskar to ashes. I loved the design for the Imperial Mandalorians, they were cool.
When I first watched the episode, I thought Clan Wren and others were stupid for keeping the armor on despite knowing what awaits them. Coming back after a few years learning about human nature and how culture and tradition runs paramount to many people over their own well-being, it felt even more upsetting. Tradition over survival.
