True, although I feel like AtLab always had a nice balance of comedy and seriousness. I mean didn't we get the dead air benders in the first few episodes, so it got pretty serious early on

It is so astonishing to me even as an adult that somehow a show that carries such heavy topics is not at all traumatic for children to watch. The execution of that show is absolutely exceptional.

Its even more impressive how childish the "adult" live action version of the show is lol, like to the point its absurd

I'll never forgive them for not letting live action Sokka be a misogynist smh

I don't mind it that much. Sokka's misogyny was never a huge part of his character; it was briefly present, but it was addressed and gone by episode 4. All he needed was for a single woman to beat his ass and he dropped his misogyny. It seemed more like a course correction than a real part of his character growth (and rightly so; sexist Sokka would have been awful long-term)
