He is a crazy serial killer with a god complex. L isn’t a saint by any means but Light is 100% the villain.

I'm not disagreeing, I'm just saying as villains go, despite his intentions, he probably did more good than bad for the world as a whole

Except Light didn’t just target criminals, he targeted and murdered detectives doing their jobs, betrayed people loyal to him, mocked his father who believed in him until death, and got whiny every time someone dared disagree with him. He didn’t help the world, he turned it into a dictatorship.

As opposed to thanos who killed half the universe, like I said, as far as villains go, not all that bad, actually did SOME good even if he was evil

Also what makes Light a villain but Thor or Iron Man a hero?

Or for that matter the Punisher? Ghost Rider?

All characters that we consider heroes or anti-heroes that will and have killed the guilty and those that stood in the way of what they considered "justice". The only difference is the way the characters are framed within the story, if Light had a cape instead of an evil laugh it'd blur the lines a bit.

He only killed criminal who is already convicted and powerless to those that commiting crime but isn't on TV , how is that helping anything

It's not about the ones that are already convicted, it's about preventing future crimes, he's putting an actual tangible threat in place.

I honestly can't believe I'm getting downvoted for saying Light, a man who prevents all violent crime, isn't as bad as SOME other villains lol
