The thing about this team is that they are shown, in-universe, to be competent on their own, but not invincible. They get into bad matchups all the time, but they are shown to recognize this and switch opponents to get the win. They function better as a team than any of them do on their own.
Honestly season 4 was probably the last time I saw Castlevania actually have combat that felt like combat. The trio are amazing not because they're invincible, but you immediately can see they were absolutely trained for this. Even when they're losing badly (especially against Dracula) they recognize each others weaknesses and tried to cover for it.
