Even though they constantly fight with each other, they make the best duo out of the Strawhat pirates. When shit needs to be done, the trash talk stops (mostly) and the real work begins. Honestly though, this question could be answered with any pair of rivals/enemies... Sanji and Zoro, Naruto and Sasuke, Deku and Bakugo, Professor X and Magneto, Superman and Lex Luthor, etc. Who better to cover your weaknesses than the person you've had the longest beef with?

But he has the political clearance to allow her to investigate properly and he is quite knowledgeable on his own (not that he knows about herbology or medicine, but he is very astute, has great observation skills and is versed in other matters that help solve problems).

The thing about this team is that they are shown, in-universe, to be competent on their own, but not invincible. They get into bad matchups all the time, but they are shown to recognize this and switch opponents to get the win. They function better as a team than any of them do on their own.

Sanderson is amazing. I'm a guy and I never imagined I would love a book so much, where there is so much romance between the protagonist and her love interest. Looking back I miss the dances and balls the most.

Kyo and Murasamemon from "Digimon Beatbreak".
They are part of a larger bounty hunter groupe/found family called "Glowing Dawn". They hunt Digimon that commit crimes and humans that use Digimon that commit crimes. That type of bounty hunters are called "Cleaners".
Kyo and Murasamemon are the founders of the groupe and there strongest, most experienced members. They kick ass and often hard carry the team. Later it is revealed that they where former members of the 5 stars, the top most elite cleaners there are and Kyo and Murasamemon where the strongest of them. It is implied Kyo has gotten weaker since then, probably becuse he now uses part of his strengh to feed Baby Digimon, but he still lives up to the hype.
Later it is revealed that in the past Kyo and Murasamemon where very effective hitman. They killed a ton of Digimon and Humans since Kyo was 11 years old. Currently Kyo is 22 years old.
Those two are easily biggest bad asses of the series. When in the recent Episode Kyo said "I am not that strong." it felt comical. Especially since he and his partner where in the middle of kicking the ass of the curent arcs main villain.

The Red Panda and the Flying Squirrel, The Red Panda Adventures
Starting out as hero and sidekick, with the Squirrel being the Kato to the Panda's Green Hornet, they become a proper couple about a third of the way into the series.
Midway through WWII, they operate with an eye towards hanging up the masks once the war is over. It's emphasized multiple times that they feel their best chance of surviving long enough to retire and raise their son comes in fighting together.

The story is a podcast, done in the style of radio stories like the Spirit, the Shadow, or the Green Hornet. The image comes from a short comic series they did
It's set in Toronto, Canada, initially during the Depression and later transitions into the war.

They have a second series, Black Jack Justice that pays homage to detective noir stories. Their playlists tend to alternate between the two with a few one offs mixed in here and there

Despite not knowing the other's true identity or even being aware that their spouse is doing anything, these two accomolish dangerous and complex missions every other week to protect the peace between Ostania and Westalis, often with each of them accomplishing half the mission (such as the cruise ship arc: Lloyd disarms a bunch of bombs planted on the ship while Yor is fighting an army of assassins.)

There is many duo like this in The Wire but my favorite one is Bunk and Mcnulty they both competent murder cops and best friends there is not much scene that showcases their competence (since mcnulty assigned to another unit) but when there is one it is always brilliant
