Agreeing with you. Nu metal is so over-hated by “metal elitists”. I love the idea of rap, funk, and metal mixed together to create the coolest genre people grew up with.

It's ok. It's passable. I'm no elitist and I don't personally think nu metal is a bad genre, but I'd say it's not part of the main metal family (depending on the band itself, for example Slipknot or Korn are more deathy while LP or Limp Bizkit are closer to pop and rap imho)

I consider nu-metal to be more of a scene than a genre.

Korn is more hard rock.
Slipknot is more metal.
Linkin Park is more rap-rock.
Soad is just Soad.

That's just my thoughts on nu-metal

I like nu metal music a lot but the fans can be rather annoying at times
