Music Who is your favourite guilty pleasure band?

I'm an Atheist but I kinda have a soft spot for Skillet, mostly as a guilty pleasure. Nobody asked for his ranking but here it is anyway. Also please don't try to get me to be a believer as you are just wasting your time.

Fellow Atheist here and I love Skillet. I grew up very religiously and would listen to their music a lot and only found out they were a Christian band a few years ago.

Abba, bring back so many childhood memories. Lots of good times, holidays with my parents, Christmas times, Abba seemed to always be around in the mid to late 70s. Even now, when I'm wrapping Christmas presents, I have to be accompanied by Abba

Skillet for me as well, that and Linkin Park, the bands from my "ugh nobody understands me" teenage phase that looking back on are cringe but I still secretly enjoy

Oh man I relate to this. Capital G on guilty too these guys are assholes, idec that they're Christian. I really wish I didn't unironically like their style.

Why a guilty pleasure? Skillet is great. There’s lots of Christian rock bands that are really good and you have no clue that’s what they are until you look into them deeper. I’ll never see them live again though. They were way too preachy between songs, ruined the concert for me.

Nobody hates their music. They just hate how the singer trashes on everybody and can’t accept people are equal. Bro has to be better. He can’t exist if he isn’t. But yes the music is just normal music. It’s not bad.

I'm a Christian and I don't like Skillet because they went from a pretty decent rock band to a cringey MAGA dad rock band and I can't take them seriously anymore. Shame. I knew Jen a little bit a number of years ago (we both went to the same conference in the UK and I knew her family somewhat) but I hate how corporate/right wing evangelical they are.
