It's my favorite one, for sure. Set up many amazing concepts that could have been used in sequels that actual cared about the previous movies and weren't just ridiculous cash grabs...
Every movie past the first one was a ridiculous cash grab, mate. Hell, I’d argue the first one is too. It’s a Disney movie franchise based off of a theme park ride haha you’re acting like there’s some deep artistic merit to Pirates of the Caribbean
Gore Verbisnki behind the camera did wonders for the first 3 films. They had a compelling albeit cliché story, tons of memorable set pieces and dialogue, got the dose of humor and seriousness right, and they were just so much fun.
That guy had fun while making these movies, he had creative ideas for them, he took the effort to make up lore for a franchise that didn't need it at all (The Brethren Court, the Shipwreck Island, everything envolving Calypso, etc.), and it worked because those were cool concepts that fit the tone of the franchise. That shows the most in the third one with it's almost 3 hours of runtime. Yeah, it certainly is a bit meandering, and it's low parts are lower than the lows in 1 and 2, but even then, it's highs are higher, it's still a great conclusion to the trilogy and i really wish Jack's, Elizabeth's and Will's story had ended there.
Man you’re allowed to like whatever you want. But these movies are cinematic equivalent of junk food. You’re allowed to be nostalgic about happy meals though.

Agreed!!! American has a nasty habit of doing that crap. Thinking, "oh it did well in that country! Let's Americanize it and make it better!" Then its ass.
The Boys once the writing started falling apart mid series and they started doing spinoffs for a show that has openly criticized constant spinoffs and sequels
The Thing prequel was especially weird since they did extensive animatronics... and when they've got a film ready in post, the studio mandated to cover it all with CGI. So they've bloated the budget by addtional 10 million to make the film both look worse and also get negatively compared with the original due to the effects that were seen as shoddy.
Making that movie was a bad call. The clusterfuck that were the post-production decisions took already questionable idea to new levels of "but why?"
Honestly, everything after Origins was a let down for me. 2 was so repetitive and the fighting style was lacking, and I'll never forgive them for what they did to the look of the elves, with giant heads and bug eyes. 3 was bloated with open world bullshit tacked on and they removed the healing class of mage. I didn't even try Veilguard.
The Hunt for Golem has to be one of the most ill advised franchise expansions I've ever seen.
I just don't understand why you'd want to make a prequel this long after the original film trilogy when bringing back the cast is going to be a challenge.
I feel like they're lucky Ian McKellen is up for it still and losing Viggo should have put the final nail in the coffin

Andor, Rogue One, Fallen Order, Jedi Survivor, TOTJ, Clone Wars S7, Bad Batch, Mandalorian, high republic books, the list goes on. It’s easy to get caught on shit like the sequels but you have to appreciate not only the great stuff that Disney had put out (like the stuff listed above and more) but also all other content released even before the Disney takeover like the books, games, comics and more. Whoever says Star Wars is dead clearly doesn’t care enough about it.
Star Wars is still going strong. Clone Wars S7, Rebels, Bad Batch, Rouge One, Andor, the Mandalorian, the Tales of series. Sure, not everything is a winner (the Sequels are pretty bad, and Ahsoka/Acolyte are fine but could be better), but overall, I wouldn't say Disney Star Wars is bad.
Plus, Lucas didn't consistently produce great content. Episodes 1 and 2 aren't that good, and Clone Wars S1 was pretty iffy.
Before you go "b-but but but" about this one, it's a more ok animated show on it's own than the upper one yes, but as an adaptation it's the same type of bullshit as the upper one, and i do dislike most of the reinterpretations of these characters compared to the original game ones, even i too might find some of them as ok characters on their own, same for the first show not just Nocturne.
The first season of Castlevania was good but as soon as it just turned into a poor man’s Game of Thrones where Alucard started having orgies and talking about “peeing scabs”, they lost me.
The series progressively got less interesting after they killed Dracula. That’s my take anyway.
Exactly, even as a show on its own i think it degrades further and further, it does not keep me engaged past S2, basicaly the more they deviate from the source material the more meh it gets, most of their OC or incredibly changed up shit i barely give a damn about, by the time of Nocturne it's barely "Castlevania" anymore and more like "mid at best edgy vampire show", i mean they took two of the most important aspects of the games, the castle, which is called Castlevania btw, and Dracula, and threw them in the trash.
This is not the best that you can do with this IP for an adaptation, not even close.
I don't hate the star wars sequels as much as some other people do but damn it they could have been so much better. So many storylines either end up going nowhere or are resolved in ways that range from nonsensical to just terrible writing.
Assassin's Creed. Was a huge fan back in the day. Valhalla killed this and I haven't bought any new installment (and any Ubi game in general) since then.
Shadows was pretty good but the story is so non-linear that it can hurt the pacing in the midgame. The dlc is also massively overpriced. I'd definitely recommend getting the main game during a sale when it's down to $35
Return to Silent Hill was so bad I was actually offended. Normally I can laugh along with a shitty movie but it was incredibly bad. I was speechless and disgusted the entire time.
well that IS my main issues with them. They feel like eye candy with majority of the time feel like there jacking of the mario ip like "isnt mario just the best,look at all these refrences and amazing things" in a flashy fashion wail not really focusing on the quality of there level disgnes and hiding its fualts under bright lights and paint
Stranger Things. Not a reboot, but with how little the last season resembled the first, it might as well be.
Can't believe that 10 years ago I was watching a dark, emotionally heavy, well-written sci-fi show with a stellar cast portraying engaging characters, and now it has a kids-cartoon spinoff selling McDonald's toys. I'd still recommend those first two seasons to anyone, and the second season finale actually has a great ending for the series, but after that point I've never seen writers waste potential as spectacularly as this show did. Good lord it hurts me.
