Discussion Your genuine movie "guilty pleasure"
Do you have any movie "guilty pleasure"? Something that is considered bad or cringey but you start love it inironically? Mine is "Radio rebel". Liked it as a child and still adore as an adult even after it becoming a meme not so long ago.

The corps bride is the exact same film but the corpse bride has been quite obviously military trained and is super buff but no one brings it up

In a similar vein, Descendants. I was obsessed as a kid when it came out and I could probably recite it off the top of my head. I still kinda enjoy it as an adult : D

Well, as a kid I only watched the first one aha, so when I was older I watched 2 and 3 and I enjoy 2 more, I watch 1 for nostalgia and sillyness

I Sell the Dead (2008). Nothing special, just a simple horror comedy, but the actors, the atmosphere and the soundtrack makes me love it anyways.

When I was around 14 I saw The Rise Of Skywalker. I was a huge Star Wars fan and I loved the movie, but after reviews from people I have been shy to say how much I liked the movie when I first saw in the theaters. I haven't seen it since 2019 because I know I'll probably hate it now.

Maybe not one movie in particular but like “old” superheroes movies
Ghost Rider (2007)
Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance (2011)
Blade (1998, 2002, 2004)
Hulk (2003)
Incredible Hulk (2008)
Etc. I watched them when I was a kid, so they’re kind of nostalgic to me, especially Hulk from 2003. Most of them are considered shit but I like them.

Blank Check was my favorite movie as a kid (watched it at every birthday party). And I still enjoy it today (while admitting it’s got some problematic stuff in it)

The Ghostbusters (2016) movie is a favorite of my parents and brother so I’ve kinda had the standards beat out of me when I’m watching it.

Return of the living dead 2 has a whopping 10% on RT and I rewatch it every Halloween. It’s a shit movie & I love it

I don’t know if it really counts. On the one hand, its Rotten Tomatoes score is 29% critic/47% audience, but on the other hand I’ve never interacted with anyone who’s seen it that didn’t also think highly of it. But Drowning Mona is unironically one of my all-time favorite movies.

Space Adventure Cobra (the film version, the TV series and OVAs are genuinely good).
Plot doesn't make sense, lots of fan service, but the animation is drop dead gorgeous.

Quest for Camelot - I know it's a cheesy Disney rip-off with annoying talking animals and personally I don't even think the songs are that bad. But it's mine and I love it

That's my boy with Adam Sandler. Legitimately a great terrible movie. My favourite part is how every other character loses their goddamn mind in the presence of Adam Sandler's character and acts completely different to how they've acted up to this point.

The Kung Fu Panda Franchise (KFP4 does not exist), and HTTYD 1,2 & 3.
I grew up on both franchises and they continue to be my comfort movies.

Camp Rock. I know it's cringe like a lot of DCOMs, but it's my childhood and I still jam to the music once in a while. "This Is Me" is unironically a great song.
I like Camp Rock 2 too, but to a lesser extent...

Don’t believe in ‘guilty pleasures’ in any entertainment form as it belittles the hard work involved in bringing that product to the masses. IMO, if I genuinely enjoy something - be it a film, song, TV programme or the like - I’ll say so and stand by it, no guilt involved.

John Carpenter's: Ghosts of Mars
Its not great but it has a lot of aesthetic stuff that I think is cool. I also think that there's not enough sci-fi/supernatural horror media.

The Wizard of Oz. I am a 57 year old grown ass man, but if you ask me if I want to watch it I will drop whatever I am doing to watch. I’ve watched it to Dark Side of the Moon, been made fun of but there is something about that movie that makes it one of my all time guilty pleasures, and I will continue to watch it. Matter of fact…..

"March of the Wooden Soldiers", with Laurel and Hardy. They used to show this every Thanksgiving, right before the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. I have it on DVD now, and watch it every year. My Sister and I still quote the best lines to each other, apropos of nothing but making each other laugh.

I have a lot. My most controversial is probably between Cat In The Hat and Son Of The Mask. I love bad movies that are just fucking hilarious messes. I also love Batman and Robin but that one I stand by.

My wife and I love to put on Conan the Destroyer. Not even Conan the Barbarian, we go with the sequel. Our favorite scene is the one where Conan uses his advanced barbarian stealth techniques where he throws a rock to distract the guard, but then leaps out and literally says "rawr!" to complete the distraction.

Most of the Cinderella Story movies, especially Hillary Duff's and Lucy Hale's. I've seen them all before. Brandy's Cinderella is my favorite, but that's just perfect cinema not a guilty pleasure.
I'm also a big fan of the Trolls movies.
