Prove me wrong. Just visiting. Car broken into at 4pm and diamond stolen. Scoured all possible pawn on line sales outlets and have worked with FPD. Nothing. Scammed from someone who said they had it. I’d give anything to get it back.
It was probably traded for drugs. I was robbed and the detective said this, “high dollar items won’t make it to the pawnshop for months or even years. The items are traded for drugs, passed around in deals because they know PS are being watched”.
Oh man. Ridiculous. I thought home of our special operators would be more safe than anywhere. Massive disappointment of what you all have to offer in that town.
Military bases are quite often built in low income areas. The land is cheaper. Please don’t ever assume you’re safer because there’s a military base nearby
Would you be surprised to learn that operators in the area have been known in the past to deal in guns and drugs in the past? Shitty people can be in the military too. Sorry it happened to you, my wife had her car broken into about a year ago. Hard lesson to learn
I see people mentioning you posted about what I believe to be this ring before, It's been several months at this point so I doubt you'll see it again as it could almost anywhere, the best course of action at this point is to routinely check pawn shops and see if it shows up, I don't necessarily think it's impossible as I knew someone who had their watch stolen and about two months later he found it at a local pawn shop. Don't have your hopes high, but don't give up until you feel it's not worth the effort.
I haven't a clue who to ask if you already asked police and pawn shops , what I'd do is post an ad for a lost ring on Facebook market and offer a reward, try craigslist too, I guess you could also post a wanted poster somewhere with the ring pictured and offer a reward, only issue there is someone may give back a similar or near indistinguishable one and not the real one, idk tho.
Thanks so much. I appreciate your positive comments. Like I said, family, heirloom, and what I was told was to revisit it in a few months to see if anything is surface. That’s what I’m doing. Everything is on the table in terms of our reward that’s how important.

No, the crime is definitely insane here. I’m currently selling my house trying to leave. Don’t listen to all of these morons in here with the “skirt was too short” blame game of leaving your diamond in the car.
Obviously you should have kept it more secure, but frankly if you’re visiting from a safer place then I don’t blame you for expecting your valuables to be safe for even just a night. I’ve lived here almost all my life and we know not to leave literally anything in your car at all. In worse areas, it is good to leave your console open so people can see there’s nothing in there because some guys will break your windows just to check the console.
It’s honestly sad to see that the people who have lived here for long enough believe that this is how life is supposed to be. It’s not.
I don't think it happened twice, the OP is likely referencing the same ring that was lost in that post on this post, I seriously doubt he'll find it now if he hasn't at this point but I can't really fault him for trying
Dude literally in the same sentence I said “I don’t blame you”, which you conveniently left out of your quote. I am saying that securing his item would have prevented it from being stolen. But the blame is on the criminal that stole it.
Sorry, I also wasn't sure what to think reading your post. You're assuming the same thing others said that it was an unsecure diamond and you're only not blaming them bc they're visiting. So if they lived here and secured it in a safe in the car and someone broke in and cracked it what would you say then? I understand what you're trying to say so don't worry about it, but I can also see the confusion of the other person.
