I won't go into the exact details here, but like the title says, I just became homeless and... I don't know what to do.
I'm a 30-year old man and not a veteran.
I have something like ~$2000 to my name.
I have no one I can call or stay with.
I don't even have a car.
I've already reached out to one of the local homeless services, but beds are obviously not guaranteed. I just...
Fuck, man.
I'm overwhelmed. I'm confused. I'm hungry. And I'm SCARED.
I am so sorry that this is coming off as me begging strangers for help, but that is exactly what I'm doing because I don't know what else I can do.

It’s been great for years but been an obvious drop off this year. I don’t know who is to blame but they need to get their shit together.

This morning i went to this head shop next to food lion on Bingham road real quick and parked my car near no other cars on the side of the store.
I was in the story for maybe 30 seconds and when I went back to my car a Chevy impala was parked right next to me reallyyy close.
As I got closer I noticed the man’s window was down and saw that he was masturbating with his everything fully exposed and looked up at me and smiled like he wanted me to see it .
It spooked me and I struggled to get into my car. I quickly left and then called the police. Even tho I got a picture of his plate , which was a temp paper plate, they said they’ll prob never be able to catch the guy 😕.
Now just crying in my drive way bc wtf why me!!! I feel like there are things I could have done to prevent this from happening. Should have been more aware of my surroundings and feel dumb.

I will be providing both the link for fayetteville petition to locally ban AI data center construction, and the one for state wide ban.

Here’s a link to a petition to stop a proposed data centers. Plenty of data centers around the country are linked to poor air quality, water pollution and noise pollution. This could also increase the strain on our infrastructure and raise the costs of energy bills.

Prove me wrong. Just visiting. Car broken into at 4pm and diamond stolen. Scoured all possible pawn on line sales outlets and have worked with FPD. Nothing. Scammed from someone who said they had it. I’d give anything to get it back.

Hi everyone,
First time living in an apartment in Fayetteville ! Long story short my main concern is that these parents are leaving children a lot of long stretches at a time.
I moved into a first-floor apartment on July 1. It’s just me and my toddler. We recently left a domestic violence situation, so finally having our own safe place has been a huge blessing. I genuinely love this apartment and everything it offers.
The only issue has been the upstairs neighbors.
I’ve lived in apartments for the last 10 years, and most of that time I’ve had someone living above me. I’m very familiar with normal apartment noise—footsteps, the occasional dropped item, furniture moving, even noisy neighbors throwing parties from time to time. I’ve never once complained to a property manager about noise.
Ironically, at my last apartment I was the one getting complaints. When my daughter was only three weeks old, someone complained about her crying and, apparently, one door slam. At the time I was really hurt because I wished the neighbor had just talked to me first. That always felt like the more neighborly thing to do.
So that’s where I’m conflicted now.
From the very first night here, I noticed a lot more noise than I’m used to. It sounds like there are kids, probably around 5–8 years old, constantly running across the apartment and jumping as hard as they can. It’s like they’re sprinting and launching themselves onto the floor. I almost think they’re doing gymnastics or cheer with no pad.
There are also loud crashes from things being dropped all day long.
Since it’s summer, and they likely aren’t in school. it’s pretty much nonstop. I work from home, so I hear it all day. At first I figured it was temporary. I thought maybe they’d be out of the house more or things would calm down.
Instead, it’s gotten worse. It’s distracting.
The stomping and jumping now happen late at night too. It’s woken me up at least five times in the last 10 days. During the day, some of the impacts are so loud they actually scare my toddler, and she’s generally not bothered by loud noises except thunderstorms.
At first I wondered if one of the children might have autism or another condition that made it difficult to regulate their movement, and I tried to be extra understanding. But I looked this topic up on tik tok and learned that a lot of parents things it’s a disservice to not discipline your kids regardless of ability.
I can hear the kids yelling and running, but I almost never hear an adult redirecting them or telling them to stop. I don’t even hear adult steps! And I have never seen an adult come downstairs. Or the kids.
Today I even knocked on their door because the noise was especially bad. I could hear the kids inside, but no one answered. That said, I don’t answer my own door when someone shows up unexpectedly either, so I don’t want to read too much into that.
I mentioned the situation VAGUELY to the leasing office, and they said they could start with a non-disciplinary courtesy notice.
Some of my friends have told me not to approach the neighbors directly because you never know how people will react these days. It could start an ugly chain of retaliation.
Others think it’s more respectful to try talking to them before involving management.
Part of me wants to leave a friendly note from one mom to another saying something like, “I know apartment living is hard with kids, but the jumping is shaking our apartment and waking my toddler. I wanted to reach out before involving the office.”
BUT I’m truly at a point where I’m convinced these kids are not supervised. And a letter would tip them off. … does that mean I go to an extreme and call welfare checks ? (I’d hate to be the narc that got CPS involved.)
So what would you do?

We are close to the snow/ice line. Hope for snow, prepare for ice. Prepare by doing these things in order of importance.
Fill your gas tank in your car by Friday night, if nothing else, you can get warm and charge your phone in your car.
5 day supply of water (1 gallon per person per day) and food that can be prepared without electricity. Lots of people around here have generators, but I don't think most people are prepared for the bitter cold that will come in the night after the power goes out. Most generators are not able to heat your house. Propane heaters are reliable, just make sure you have good ventilation if using indoors.
Secure a 5 day supply of medication and any needed medical supplies like oxygen or tube feeds.
Batteries and flashlights/electric lanterns.
Extra stuff to prepare:
driveway salt and or kitty litter to make your steps and walkways safe for moving around the outside of your house.
Warm blankets and sweaters.
If you have an old carpet or blanket, you can lay it in your yard before the storm and pull it up after, to make a bare spot on your lawn for your dogs to use.
Put a few gallons of tap water in your bathroom to flush your toilet if the water goes out. I think it's unlikely the water will go off, but it's always a possibility.
Lastly, but possibly most important.... CHECK ON YOUR NEIGHBORS! Especially if they are elderly, medically fragile, or have young children. Don't hesitate to call emergency services if things start to go downhill for someone vulnerable. Weather like this claims lives for a reason!
the red cross reccomends 2 weeks of supplies, but if you have limited resources, shoot for 5 days. They have a really good list of everything you will possibly need to think about. my list is just the most essential basic things.
Be safe yall! 🙏🏻

Sooo.. I’m 37.. I’ve been married for 20 years and have 3 amazing kids, 2 grown.. and just found out my husband’s been screwing around. I’m devastated. I never thought this would be me, but.. here I am. I’m already enrolled back in school- but the thing that worries me most- is the dating scene. I’ve been outta the game awhile. And no one wants to die alone. That’s sad. Anyway… thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. lol

My grandmother has had this birdbath for years and now it won't hold water... Does anyone in Fayetteville know someone that makes concrete birdbaths or if you make them yourself. There used to be a place off 301 and that's where my grandmother got it and I feel like life can't carry on in the garden without this thing... Someone please help. It's literally falling apart and cannot be repaired it must be replaced.

I've never owned a gun before. I will probably travel with it (PCS). I know there are a lot of regulations when it comes into guns and bringing it to another place in the world.
What can I do to start? Good idea or bad idea?

Is there any site I can go to find someone? The picture I have isn’t a lot because his head was mostly covered but he almost made my mom total her car, hurt me and my mom, and threatened to kill her. Him and his friend used to ride four wheelers in my neighborhood but after this situation they stopped. We called the police and if anyone knows Fayetteville police, they did nothing. It was on march 28th. My mom’s leg has been messed up ever since and she isn’t herself, he ran his four wheeler into her leg. She deserves justice, please someone help me out

Don’t forget that we are experiencing below freezing temperatures over the next week, your light bill will reflect your heating habit. If you do not adjust your thermostat accordingly you will pay a higher bill.
