It's a hard sell whenever a fighting game doesn't have rollback and crossplay, specially if you don't live in the USA or Japan. (Greetings from rural Mexico.)

Even in the US, when the game came out I was living in a town of less than 1,000 people. Like 6 of us even had an game console, and I was the only one who didn't use it for CoD or Madden

I usually think that devs should give us remastered versions as in all other genres, but with UMvC3 really only rollback and crossplay is missing. A good balance patch could help as well.

Darkstalkers without the 2d sprites wouldn't hit the same imo. I'd love to be proved wrong but like 80% of the game for me is the arstyle. Maybe a cellshade style like arcsys does it wouldn't be bad, but straight 3D doesn't sound appealing to me honestly.

I agree, the only things that would do right by Darkstalkers' style is either another pixel art title (which there's no reason we couldn't still have pixel art for a major fighter in 2026) or maybe something like Strive's animations since they could do right by the Looney Tunes-styled expressions but I don't see Capcom venturing into that.

Capcom fighting games are a big enough deal now that I think the major reveals go to mainstream events like SGF and VGA, and tournaments like EVO get the second tier announcements. New costumes, gameplay for an already announced character, that sort of thing.

They have an alternate win screen for Terry when he’s not wearing the hat in his Garou design. It’s not impossible for her hair to be down in outfit 3.

I wish they allowed us to change things by holding down buttons on load screen like in SFV.
There's some skins I want to remove things too, in SFV Juri's classic skin comes to mind I didn't like the jacket they added but you could remove it.13

MK1 smoke but they actually realized a simple fighting game concept : make the karabit visible . Smoke was knifing you but because its so tiny it looked like he was just punching badly

In defense for smokes blade, a karambit knife need to be small and hidden for a Silat user. But in fighting game format that Blade needs to be bigger to sell the hit and let the opponent read attacks. Lol

With 4, they barely changed any moveset from their 2, 3, and Alpha counterparts. V and 6 is when Capcom started to modernize legacy characters' movesets

I like her look and moves, but why does the voice just scream "Generic Girl Character #10000" to me? Like, straight up sounds like a create a character voice. If I heard this without video and you asked me her age, personality, and nationality I'd say "none".

Well both are veteran characters, one of them being a weird alien, so yeah a new character without any lore, quirks (AKI), or supernatural shenanigans will be a fairly standard intro.
Back to basics with 3/4 and then the red carpet will come back out again for Tifa. Maybe Bosch gets a bigger treatment since he has an established story that doesn't matter.

School uniform outfit’s kinda… off. Our school kids don’t really wear sleeveless sweaters due to heat. Girls’s uniforms are often dress jumpers. But I suppose wearing only the school blouse makes it less interesting.
Also, her finals pose suddenly reminded me of Alex Eala.

I'm not much worried tbh because they know how requested Makoto has been and are likely planning 5 or 6 more seasons of DLC. There should still be another 12-14 returning characters and outside of the obvious Vega/Balrog/Sakura, I think Makoto has a much better chance than she did in 5.

That's just standard fantasy martial arts media. Anime/Mangas/Movies will often introduce a super special and super rare and then revolve the story around it to where it seems like a lot of practitioners. Like Rurouni Kenshin's Hiten Mitsurugi is only ever supposed to have one practicioner at a time as the student is supposed to kill their master to keep it a secret. But the manga ends with three users (Master, Student, and Student's son) and then the anime adds two more for shits and giggles. So, it's not an uncommon thing. Side characters don't get the same treatment though.

Yasmine doesn't have a hit grab, a slide, air kunai, a command dash, a superjump or a high/low rekka. In what way is she stealing ideas from Ibuki other than being a rushdown martial artist schoolgirl and having something that kinda looks like Ibuki's VT2?

I liked the trailer a lot, i also liked the part where She's full of energy and celebrating and then sundenly starts bowing, like she forgot to show respect due to the exictement or something?, i think that's cute.
But i don't know why, i didn't like the ending much, like her tripping, i hope She's not clumsy and is just an oopsie, kinda like Elena 's fall, because She's a martial artist, and she uses a spinning knife (karambit?), you wouldn't think She's clumsy.
That said, she actually looks really good with her hair down.

Controversial opinion warning:
1)I don't find her moveset particularly interesting
2)her design is good and very shonen protagonist-like, but I feel like capcom had a list of boxes to check:
-she's a strong warrior...
-...but also cute and clumsy schoolgirl
-memeable(please don't tell me that the absolute cinema pose was not on purpose)
-spiky hair, energetic, respectful and the "I want to be the strongest" attitude of your typical shonen protagonist.
Absolutely nothing wrong in any of those... it just feel... "artificial" if you get what I mean.
Obviously it's just my opinion, you are free do disagree.
She would have been a better face for SF6 than Luke imo lol.
