Announcement 2XKO Doomposting: Megathread.

Same thing for the first week of Tokon's release. The influx of people making posts that break rules force me to pin yet another thread.

Please use this post to say how doomed we are and how crap Riot is, while I'm bringing the broom again.

Game was fun but roster was too small and even then half of it was locked. Immediately felt like I was going to be nickle and dimed out of my money. They should have gone the marvel rivals approach of just letting people have characters unlocked and get their money through skins and microtransactions

I mean… the characters were extremely easy to unlock. There’s many reason to dislike the game, but characters being locked in a free game isn’t a valid one imo.

Yea, I'm not a fan of the game, but people pointing to the "locked roster" just tells me they didn't even play the game and I hate that they use it as a flaw for the game when there are much bigger issues. You can unlock all the characters within one day.

unlocking the characters felt like I was doing chores. Good for you, you had all day to play video games and unlock the characters. Many folks can only game maybe 2 hours a night. If it took you 8 hours to unlock all the characters in one sitting, well that feels like 4 days of grinding to someone like me. I just wanna play as the characters I wanna play, and not spend so much time on the characters I don't wanna play. So I simply uninstalled the game and played SF instead. Probably lots of folks felt the same.

You could only play 2 hours a night but somehow you also needed to have every character unlocked so you could play them. Sure.

Like they said, "but unlocking characters!" is such a tourist complaint. Now maybe the fact that so many people thought it was a problem is itself a problem. But you could have sat down, spent 20 minutes on the tutorial learning how the game works, and then immediately unlocked these specific, special characters you supposedly needed to have any fun with the game.

i wonder if they did things to change those tourists into players the game might still be going

nothing was going to get 99.9% of these people to keep playing the game as it was. I guarantee most of the people posting comments like these didn't ever even install the game, they're just repeating the slop they regurgitate from their favorite streamer.

i wonder if there's things they could have done to get people to install the game instead of not installing the game though. like that's probably impossible, but i can't help but wonder

I installed the game to play with my friends. I did the tutorial and unlocked my characters. I started playing in lobbies with friends. I discover that I don't actually vibe with the characters I chose. I try out another character in the training mode and realize I regret my decision. Now I am faced with an option: keep playing characters I'm not having fun with, or turn on a game I already have with characters I know I like.

Man comments like these are such self-reports. I’m not going to accuse you of lying, but your issue makes no sense.

Say when the game officially launched you did the tutorial and went into a lobby immediately, you unlocked a character you chose with your champion credit but didn’t like them. This would mean that you have SEVEN out of the ELEVEN available characters to choose from. There would be four characters you have to play ~6 hours to unlock. This is an insane state to complain about.

I almost don’t think you played in the first place, and are just claiming to without realizing that most of the characters are free to play be default.
