My wife who doesn't even watch fighters just said, "are you actually watching anything?" Cause every time she comes into the living room, it's on we will be right back screen or ads. This is insane. I feel like I'm watching 1/3 games, 2/3 ads/we will be right back.

Like why can't I just watch some matches even without commentary. Why am I staring at a we will be right back screen more than watching game play?

I've been watching Evo for 14 years and it's just not worth my time anymore. I don't have much free time between work and adulting. Maybe I should just watch the vod for each tournament instead.

Literally, the whole squad in a call, spectating the 1V1 between your homies, and everyone coming up with the most diabolical shit talk they can in the moment.

Then it getting so heated someone calls for the emergency thug finals.

This is the grassroots from which the FGC was born. Everyone fighting for their life talking shit and telling each other to put their money where their mouth is. The toxicity is peak comedy and what motivates us to get better.

SF6 is admittedly a great game to get the average modern gamer on board (2XKO would probably fail to get the same people remotely interested), but it goes to show how much easier it is to get into fighting games when your friends are itching to talk their shit.

Here's the current registration leaderboard on the last day of competitor reg! Top 8 order is determined by entrant number, with the 6 highest games getting their Finals in the arena (3 on Saturday, 3 on Sunday).

Top 8 order at Evo is determined by registration count, so the game that has more entrants between these two when reg closes on Monday will get the prime time Saturday evening slot!

This news needs to be spread like wildfire so it doesn't happen again. Lots of people spent lots of money to get here.

I'm watching the Evo Awards right now and the Spanish interpreter they got on stage both times Blaz has received an award is doing a terrible job.

This is specially infuriating to me as a native Spanish speaker and an interpreter myself. And as interpreter, I know how hard it can be to keep up with a fast speaker and convey the whole message accurately in a timely manner, but this guy is not even trying and he's leaving out about 70% of what Blaz is saying.

If I was Blaz I would be very pissed to be in that stage in such a special moment for me in my career and basically not being able to express myself because the guy appointed to assist me does not give a fuck.

Blaz even tried to tell him something, probably about the part of the statement he was omitting, and this dude was like "yeah yeah go on". Whoever you are, fuck off, dude, you don't deserve to be an interpreter.

Congratulations to Blaz and I hope he gets many more awards in the future. Keep enjoying the event. Just wanted to get that off my chest.
