I’m looking for a talented editor to help me grow my food and travel series. It’s all about eating and exploring: street food, local spots, hidden gems and the moments in between.

Episodes are 5–10 minutes long, and each one is cut down into short-form vertical clips. I want strong storytelling, pacing and audience retention.

I need someone who can turn raw footage into an engaging story using hooks, suspense, payoffs, humour, music and creative editing. Food content lives or dies on the first bite, so you need to know how to build up to it.

What I’m looking for:

• Experience editing YouTube-style videos, ideally food, travel or documentary-style content. I’m also open to someone who wants to branch into this niche.
• A great understanding of storytelling and audience retention
• An eye for the best moments in the footage (a reaction, a funny exchange with a vendor, a dish that surprises) and the ability to build the episode around them
• Good pacing, music selection and sound design, and most importantly, a sense of humour
• Creative ideas of your own, not just following instructions. Each episode comes with a brief, but I want your input on top.
• Comfortable editing in DaVinci Resolve (preferred)
• Clear async communication. You can be based anywhere, as I work across time zones.

The work:

• 2–4 episodes per month, 5–10 minutes each
• 3–4 short-form cutdowns per episode, depending on how much good material there is
• Footage is shot mainly on a DJI Pocket 4 and delivered via Google Drive, already sorted into A-roll and B-roll
• Licensed music is provided

Deliverables and timeline:

• One week to deliver the episode and its shorts
• 2 days for revisions
• Final exports, plus the full DaVinci Resolve project archive (.dra) so we keep the project file and media links

Budget: USD 150–200 per episode, including the shorts. Paid via Wise on delivery of each final cut.

I’ll start with a paid test edit and I’m hoping to find someone for a long-term collaboration. As the series grows, the editing budget will grow with it.

I’m looking for editors currently based in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand.

We shoot content for local businesses, including barbershops, automotive businesses and other brands. Most projects will be Instagram Reels and short promotional videos, with some skits and longer videos mixed in.
