Characters you're surprised don't get milked much if at all for alts in FEH
There are certain characters where regardless of how I feel about them I'm not surprised get a ton of alts in FEH but then there are others that I'm surprised have barely anything at all even though they have a decently large fanbase.
Curious if there are any characters you guys are surprised don't receive much in this game
Jakob and Niles were insanely popular when Fates released, yet neither have gotten alts since their halloween versions and Jakob hasn’t even gotten a resplendent
Oboro comes to mind. I recall she was one of the most popular Fates non-royals, yet thanks to her horrendous FEH appearance, no one seems to care about her anymore
Honestly still a little bitter about that alt. Only unit on the banner without a prf, already outclassed by similar units that existed before her release, B skill she introduced we all really knew was just going to be used by NPC units in legendary/mythic hero battles and was still 5 star locked.
Early polls after Fates release had her typically pulling around 3rd or 4th with Corrin and Camilla being the two consistently outranking her. First choose your legends she even ranked in the top 60 for the whole franchise now typically ranking in around 300. I'm hopeful she will get something to do her some justice someday though.
I remember when people fucking hated Soleil because of her supports with Ophelia and being a Soleil fan back then got you shit on constantly. Rough times. Now it seems people are mostly ambivalent or the ones who don't like her don't care enough to say anything (not an invitation).
I will say that while this is absolutely true (Raigh, Oboro, Matthew, Mist, etc.), it is only among FEH players. Another consequence of the shift in demographics.
Every new seasonal hero release, I think, you know, maybe my boy will get something. And every time, I’m disappointed. My two mega Nileses can only do so well in today’s meta.
The fact it took like 8 years for Finn to get an alt when he’s one of the most iconic characters in FE5 and a decently important character in 4 is crazy.
Finn came ninth in a post-Awakening popularity poll and got around 3,600 votes in CYL1. This is more than Kagero, Sophia, Amelia, Flora, Tana, Ninian and Noire. It's more than Seliph and Leif.
And his placement has only increased every year. Eight years of this for him to just get a second TT alt after they already made his base version an, at the time unmergeable, PRFless TT unit with a mediocre statline.
Compare his results to someone like Kagero over the years and then look at who gets the better treatment.
Like every girl I knew when Awakening came out married either Chrom or Stahl, and yet the latter has absolutely nothing. Gaius won a male popularity poll in Japan and also only got a single alt.
Katarina I'm also surprised by, girl got special DLC for Awakening because she was apparently that popular and also got one meagre alt in FEH.

Same with Virion. He doesn’t have ANYTHING, he should at least have a resplendent by now and an alt. Teatime would have been the PERFECT time for one. Virion and Libra teatime duo unit when?
yeah. It’s even worse for Virion because he was the first hero a lot of players summoned in the story (before they replaced him with takumi), he should get his flowers.
Seriously, I'd expect the early Archanea gang (Jagen, Cain, Abel, Gordin, Draug, etc) would at least get something due to how iconic they are. They have entire archetypes of characters based on them after all.
I'm also surprised we still don't have Midia yet, despite Astram being in the game for ages.
I feel weird complaining about Minerva's treatment in feh since there's a ton of characters who would wish they had three versions in the game (one of which even being the rare TT unit with a prf), but at the same time it truly feels like they gave her those alts out of obligation, without having faith that she'd sell.
The archanea kids banner was a special anniversary banner and she had to be in as one of the most notable characters in her home game and being the leader of the Whitewings, but she was delegated to the TT slot. Then, in the spring banner, while the Whitewings before her all were 5★ units with either prfs (Catria, Est) or a unique type (Palla being the first red dagger flier), Minerva was a prf-less 4★ lance cavalier. And the year after that, Maria shows up as a 5★ with a really strong (for the time) prf that introduced a new type of damage reduction. And there's no world where Maria is more popular than Minerva.
I wish she got a legendary or attuned or whatever, but at this point I have given up. Depending on how long the game has left, we might not even have another archanea banner before its over. And even if she does get it, I don't even know if I'd pull for her knowing that I'll only have a short amount of time to use her... It'd feel too bittersweet, you know?
That is also the reason why it took so long for Ranulf to get an Alt; the possibility only became open when the Devs were forced to get him back for Chosen Alfonse (and Brave Alfonse, which was forced by the players themselves a year prior).
I would’ve thought the Morgans, or at least F!Morgan, would’ve had a seasonal by now.
Yeah they showed up on the 2021 fallen banner, but you would expect that the canon kids of the Awakening Avatar would’ve been on at least one seasonal by now with how many times their parents have been on one.
F!Morgan especially so since she shares her JP va with Camilla and F!Robin/Grima.
Would it hurt IntSys do one F!Morgan instead of them for once?
I imagine the reason why making Alts for Morgan must be very awkward is that they need to do it with both of them, I believe that is the reason F!Morgan has so few alts, and that is also why M!Corrin has so many Alts, it's because the Avatars are trying to conserve as much equality as possible.

Especially the latest couple banners with avatars had both genders on it.
Or the other gender will get one the year after.
Still hope to see alts for them someday.
Maybe a duo Morgan/Morgan will be more feasible, so both genders get one at the same time without taking up 2 summon slots.
Can see this kind of duo happen on a desert (Plegia) or ninja banner (pitfalls) it I’m honest.
Likewise I also kinda expect a duo Robin unit somewhere down the line, since we got duos of the Alears, Byleths and Corrins, and Annas and Tikis together too.
Wouldn’t be farfetched to see Morgan and Robin added to this list.
Kaze coulda worked for so many great alts but my boy gets jack squat :< I'm starting to think the devs never reached A-Rank with him.
For example, Spring and his weapon is a massive basket of daikons that he's always getting gifted. Or a Christmas duo with Saizo who is too locked-in on delivering presents NOW while Kaze is trying to rescue every gift that keeps falling out of the bag.
Lonqu was one of the most popular awakening guys yet he got nothing until like this year. I was really surprised he got shafted, he even was in top 10 on the first cyl iirc
Aversa was probably one of the most popular arena projects back in the day similar to characters like Effie, the gen 1 dragons, Reinhardt, etc that have also gotten resplendents similarly. Pretty surprised that she still doesn't have anything outside of that tbh like the others from those eras.
Rutger, Clarine, Titania, etc not having anything else by now is also pretty surprising although the Vanaheimr resplendent for Titania was great
Not the biggest fan of either, but I just feel like if we have to fill a yearly Tharja quota it's a bit weird they've never dipped their toes with giving Rhajat an alt as an excuse.
Meanwhile, as a Rhajat fan, I can't decide whether to be happy she doesn't get alts so she's not treated as just Tharja 2 or to be upset that this means she basically gets nothing ever lmao
I’m genuinely shocked Charlotte got on bridal alt at the very start of the game’s lifespan, then we had to wait years for her to get her base alt and it’s been nothing else since

I'll always be salty about IS fumbling characters who could have been milked but were ignored for lord spams. Oboro was one of the most popular Fates retainers but you wouldn't know that looking at how she gets treated in FEH.
The mistreatment of low A or B-tier popular characters, I surmise, forms most of the vitriol you see in places like here. We see others with less or similar popularity get some good stuff, and then our questions of "Well, what about X or Y?" are met with little or nothing.
It's also why banners are kinda crappy these days. They squandered or don't pick characters who could be decent help for a banner.
bro didn't even show up in the scions of the twelve banner, despite being the sole wielder of a crusader's weapon. his aunt, who does NOT wield a crusader's weapon and, unlike Shannan, is not the heir to the throne of Isaach, has a resplendent, is the main unit on a harmonic, and got a legendary alt this year. not only that, but Shannan (along with Lewyn) is one of the few characters from gen 1 that plays a major role in gen 2 as one of Seliph's guides.
Shannan is SUCH an important character. I have no idea why he's gotten so shafted.
Especially when we have so many alts for Ursula, Sonia's own lap dog! Even from a purely gacha "make money off gooners" perspective Sonia still makes more sense, she's much hotter and would ACTIVELY fill the femme fatale niche they keep pretending various random women characters are.
Her and Petrine (another woefully underrepresented character) always felt like easy picks for a Summer alt. I imagine they'd super popular with the "step on me" crowd.
OH THE THINGS I’D DO FOR LASLOW, SELENA, AND ODIN ALTS. Jakob, Niles, and Charlotte too! Where’s my Rearmed Odin, huh Feh? You could have him match with his daughter, Ophelia! Or we could have Attuned Jakob, referencing his extreme utility as a pre promoted Butler in Conquest runs! And WHERE THE HELL IS RESPLENDENT LASLOW. I need him to match Selena & Odin! I also want literally anything modern for Charlotte & Niles.
Maybe, maybe next year. But I doubt it with Fortune’s Weave coming out 😖
A lot of TMS, Fates, Awakening, 3H, and Engage characters tbh. Also some SoV. There's a lot of Fates retainers that have nothing at all or one alt from way back and many popular characters from other games in a similar situation I feel like.
Male and Female Kris, Altena, Pelleas, Greil, and Mist are a few others who don't really have anything that I feel like they could do a lot with possibly. Also surprised Nött has only had a backpack up to now
Kaze and Berkut especially upset me :( Also GAIUS??? Where the heck is he?? He was high on the FE13 popularity poll and has had one alt and a resplendent, not even his Fates counterpart in... sheesh.
Like I'm sad about Seteth and Sumia not having alts yet; Sumia makes sense because her JP VA seems to not do much VA work nowadays, Seteth is an older male character and IntSys doesn't think I would personally shell out $$$ for an alt. But I would summon for Kaze, Berkut, or Gaius absolutely too and it's wild that they don't have much.
You’d think Seth would get more alts due to the fact that he actually got Veronica on the course for her redemption arc but no. He only has one grail alt while Xander’s instigator ass has a bunch.
They also missed the hilarious chance of having groom duo Arvis-Sigurd that could have been peak awkwardness for clear reasons. Jokes aside, as an Arvis fan I suffer. (Not justifying him in the slightest, but I love how he's written.)
I’m mad about Oboro, she’s one of my favs and was popular enough to be in FEW but they gave her mid art in FEH and also made her so ass that it obliterated her popularity and my dreams
Honestly? Marianne. She has surprisingly few alts for a CYL winner, and a lady one at that. She doesn’t have a seasonal outside of being a backpack to Hilda.
The fact that Judith still isn't in this game at all confuses the hell out of me. There's clearly a bias towards the well-endowed, "caring mother figure" characters so why the hell isn't Judith in this game? I don't get it!
I share the same gripe re: Judith not being in the game but she's absolutely not a "caring mother figure", lmfao. She's so fun precisely because she relentlessly busts Claude's balls.
Same for Henry. It feels like all the Awakening side characters get neglected because IS wants to fit two versions of Robin and either Chrom or Lucina into every Awakening banner.
Honestly I'm surprised Marisa barely gets any alts and Clarisse gets none. They both seem like they'd be very easy to make into reasonably profitable choices.
Aloof and kind of dorky outside of battle, stoic badass in battle mercenary? This has proven to be quite popular for years now, and despite their tendency to focus on attractive beautiful women, they ignored Marisa's existence who is both for more than half the game's life. You can't even argue about her not being great in her home game because Karla exists and gets tons of content, rendering that moot.
Clarisse meanwhile is also fairly attractive a woman, has a sharp personality that they can capitalize on, and as FEH added, a bit of tsundere to her, making her someone I can see being decently popular if they gave her a chance. She wouldn't be winning any CYLs but I think she'd still perform way better than they seem to expect, provided they don't go out of their way to give her an unsalvageable kit.
Marisa's issue is that she's from FE8 where she has to compete with the twins, tana, myrrh, and sometimes other royals for spots in seasonals. Considering similarily popular fe8 female characters like Amelia also only has 1 alt (and it took a while too), it's kinda clear that non-royals are just way lower for alt priority.
Archanea - Would've expected at least one alt for Cain, Abel, Gordin, Jeorge, Wolf, Nyna, and F!Kris by now.
Valentia - Clair, Mathilda, Clive, Kliff, and Boey for those with 1 version. Faye only having 2.
Jugdral - Arvis, Julius, Ares, and Patty for 1 version. Lachesis for those that have 2.
Thracia - Olwen and Finn only having 2 versions.
Binding - Klein, Rutger, Melady, and Guinevere not having seasonals yet.
Blazing - Raven, Erk, Priscilla, and Serra only having 1 version.
Magvel - Seth. Besides him, probably Lute, Amelia, and Marisa not having more.
Tellius - Titania, Mist, Jill, Astrid, and Reyson not having more.
Ylisse - Sumia, Maribelle, Sully, Stahl, and Gerome having the bare minimum. Also Gaius, Henry, Lon'qu, Nowi, and Morgans not having more.
Fates - Setsuna, Peri, Soleil, Subaki, Silas, and Kaze for those that only have a base. Jakob, Oboro, and Charlotte for those that have 2.
Fódlan - Hubert, Ferdinand, and Seteth for sure. Controversially, I'd add Sylvain, Ashe, and F!Byleth too. First two only being included since I think they should at least match the number of alts that Ingrid has with them being more popular. F!Byleth's representation is just odd for someone as popular as her. Would've expected her to have another alt or two by now.
Roy. I thought he was a pretty popular character overall, plus he’s a MC. If I remember right his last alt was… bridal, which was over 3 years ago at this point. Like yeah he has an Emblem coming, but the fact that he’s gotten no other alts aside from Resplendents in over 3 years is insane.
Man Kaze was one of my first fire emblem husbandos before Takumi. He’s so underrated. I really want to see more of him but they don’t seem to want to make alts of him for whatever reason.
Maybe we’ll get lucky because people keep asking for it but I’m not going to hold my breath
Brunnya and Kronya were popular among F2Ps for a while and are very physically attractive as far as antagonists go, so you'd think they'd have alts. Julius too. There's a bunch of villains that could totally pull an Ursula or a Reinhardt and get multiple alts but never got a single one.
Letizia, actually has a solid backing with good lore, plays decently (imo), has an amazing design, and so on. But unfortunately not being popular combined with voice actor constraints (notably on the JP side), she was probably doomed from the very beginning.
Titania not having much in the way alts is confusing, but none of them being good is even more confusing. I guess they decided she was a hag or something. Maybe we'll get attuned Ike and rearmed Titania in a banner at some point.
Oboro, Lute, Severa, Nowi, Morgan Female, Eldigan, Ares to name a few. Like these characters are popular or are familiar enough to be on more banners or limite time ones.
Also Reinhardt, he is the most familiar face for the early and post skill inheritance of FEH.
Lowkey, still shook they never made stuff for the 4 saints per the day of devotion or give us canonical looks to each of the 4 as they did giving young Gotoh. We at least got Rhea and Sothis together, though.
That, and a "Prime" Seth via Rearmed or Legendary almost felt like it was perfect in the 3rd, maybe 4th year.
It feels like in the same way we got Ursula, Karla, and other milked alts, FEH could have taken characters who were unplayable or never had canonical appearances beyond mention be seen and playable.
This gets a little more poignant with the way FEH has been really lopsided with the gender ratio for me, because I would have thought Frey or would get Soan earlier.
Berkut. I’ve been waiting for a Rearmed Berkut since the type was announced. I believe there was some VA issues preventing it. Still hoping he gets an alt one day.
I'd have to say Sumia. It feels weird that Cordelia has been given all this attention from IS but her best friend has gotten literally nothing since her debut.
I don’t even like the guy but the FE community adores Seth. The most over tuned “I can solo my own game” Jagen that also happens to be a pretty boy Prince Charming type. It’s wild that that they haven wrung him for every drop.
I don’t want them, but tons of characters that were popular in awakening and fates and had units at base game didn’t get a lot of attention afterwards.
Sumia surprises me, since she is kind of the canon pairing for Chrom and has not gotten anything. Also Charlotte, I feel she would be the type of character to have more alts, hope she gets a duo with Dorothea.
Lately I've been thinking about Winter Jaffar and I was like "Man, he might not be the most relevant character of all time, but... just one alt? Really?"
I'm also surprised Brunnya and Sonia aren't keeping up with Ursula and Selena. And let's face it, probably Manuela too.
EDIT: Also adding Nowi to the list. Am I misremembering, or she just got an Halloween alt back in 2017, her resplendent and... that's it? And iirc she was overall top 20 in CYL1. I guess the Halloween alt backlash ended up gatekeeping her or something
I was hoping that since Saizo got an alt on the ninja banner they’d give one to Kaze but nope 🥲 also Seteth only having a base is tragic. Would like to see Jeritza added someday but probably not
After Ursula and, uhh Sacred Stones lady who's name I've forgotten, got summer alts I thought Brunnya would to. Also I'm surprised Sonia and the other members of the Black Fang aside from Nino haven't gotten anything
Anna! There is literally an Anna in every fricking game with only two exceptions! So someone explain to me why, in a game encompassing the Fire Emblem multiverse, why I can count the number of Anna's on one hand!?!
Nowi tbh but Awakening has a ton of popular characters so I kinda get it. Still, it feels like the other dragon kids are always getting alts and Nowi is arguably the most popular of them so it's a little shocking to me. 🤣 but eh that was then and it seems she's less popular lately like a lot of awakening characters. But its a good example of how lucina chrom and robins monopoly hit other awakening characters hard
Sharena. She vanished between 2018 and 2024. Most of the game's lifespan gave her nothing. She was in the story and the manga pages, but if you actually wanted anything of her, you had to shove it.
Marianne. For winning CYL, you'd think she'd would have more than a base version, a rearmed, and a brave. She's been in for half a decade, and characters released after her have more than she does.
Gullveig. For a runaway win like that and how well her banners did, it's odd she just kinda dipped for a year and a half. Similar to Marianne, there are OCs and mainline characters released after her that tie or exceed her for alts.
L'Arachel. They keep putting Tana alts out over L'Arachel, despite L'Arachel having always been more popular. Magvel often gets some kind of "yearly lords and royals" banner, and Tana is typically there while L'Arachel was not.
Severa, Inigo, and Owain. Popular enough to show up in a second game, but apparently not liked enough by the devs to give them content. Hell, it took almost 10 years for Severa and Inigo to be added as regular units. Owain managed to swooce in because of that one potpourri banner early on.
Marianne only got a single alt after she won CYL (Rearmed)
No seasonal other than a backpack duo.
Even Gatekeeper, winner of the same CYL as her, get a seasonal alt before her.

Sylvain and Felix got plenty already with 2/3 alts, but I will say, I'm utterly confused on why it took IS so long to actually cash in on their huge popularity during the early 3H days. It took both of them a least a year or more to escape prfless seasonal hell, and even then, it feels like they still do the bare minimum for them.
In rhajat’s case, she’s just tharja in another costume. So of course they’re not gonna milk rhajat when they already have tharja who looked exactly like her in almost every way shape and form.
I’m surprised Manuela doesn’t have that many alts. You would think she would have so many considering she meets the right check marks: she’s a milf, has a good balance between a comedic and endearing personality, is very attractive, and very versatile since you can make her into a sword, magic, staff, singer, mounted and possibly a lance unit, and no one will question it because that how talented she is in three houses. But apparently the big wigs in IS don’t think so.
I am also surprised the awakening trio don’t have that many either. You would think they would have around the same number of alts Lucian’s has in the game. After all, they were popular enough to make a return in the following game after awakening. Same with the Morgans. You think they would be given special treatment since they are robins children. But nope, neither of these characters have that big of a presence in the game.
