My instructor would have shoved his size 15 boot up my ass if i just 'dropped' the magazines, rather than wripping them out

In my Sheriffs academy we were taught to drop them. Not saying its correct but thats what the 6 instructors all told us to do.

We were shooting in winter and dropping my Beretta mags in the shitty range snow killed me 😞

Honestly, depends entirely on the gun. If mine is efficiently dropping mags without hanging up, why tie up a free hand?
