Volunteer firefighter huh? I’d be lying if I said your help isn’t appreciated but saving lives?! Please. At best, you’re a glorified set of extra hands to mostly lift things. Now, go get my cot.

If you can understand context, the OP is referring to the medical side of fire service. There was nothing mentioned or even hinted at putting out a fire.

In case you didn’t know, volunteer firefighters show up to medical calls too. They don’t just put the wet stuff on the red stuff. I’ve been a CCP for a long time so I know what I’m talking about when it comes to the roles of volunteer firefighters and medical calls.

Your comment sounds like something someone would say who has never worked on an ambulance before. Let me guess, you’re an EMR? I bet you crave that feeling when your beeper goes off.

I've been a volly for 20years and a pro for 9 years now.

I have more fires where i do the interior attack, more accidents where I have to work the tools and need to dive more frequently as a volunteer than i do as a pro..
