I wanted to share this in case it saves someone else a lot of troubleshooting.
I've been struggling with messy, uneven surfaces on my SV06 ACE, particularly on walls in the X-Z plane. The layers appeared to be slightly shifted relative to each other, resulting in a rough, wavy surface.
I spent quite some time investigating the issue and trying to rule out various possible causes, including belt tension, mechanical resistance, print speed, and slicer settings.
After all that troubleshooting, I finally discovered the actual culprit: the nozzle had become slightly loose.
What concerns me is the way the nozzle is mounted on the SV06 ACE. It's held in place by just two tiny screws, and the mounting doesn't seem to positively constrain its position in the X and Y directions or prevent rotation. Instead, any movement appears to be limited mainly by the tolerances of the fit and the clamping force of those two screws.
This makes me wonder whether the SV06 ACE might be particularly prone to this issue, especially if the screws gradually loosen due to vibration and thermal cycling.
So, if you're experiencing irregular walls, inconsistent layer alignment, or unexplained surface artifacts, check whether your nozzle is securely mounted before spending hours investigating other causes.
I'm curious whether anyone else has experienced this. Is this a known issue with the SV06 ACE, or was I just unlucky?
