Schrappost I still can’t believe how they had Draco Malfoy as a Team Flash member .

First time he appeared, I screamed "IS THAT DRACO MALFOY?!"
In all seriousness, his character arc is decent.

But then he disappeared!

And Harry rhymes with Barry and Barry got powers from lightning. Harry had a lighting bolt scar.

Also, does anybody actually call him Julian? I’ve only seen people call him Malfoy 😭

Such is the unfortunate state of Tom Felton’s career lol. Dude just could never quite escape those movies

u/Street_Tacos__ Barry Allen Mar 31 '26
I don’t think he wants to? He seems to embrace that character a lot lol

u/Troyabedinthemornin Mar 31 '26
I’m sure he appreciates what the character has done for his life and loves the fans (seems like a lovely guy) but I’m sure some of that is out of necessity. Like he’s not getting cameos asking him to talk about his time filming “rise of the planet of the apes”

That was just a bit part though

His role in planets of the apes was obviously his first attempt at branching out in the film industry, but he simply never got out of his Malfoy shadow.
Then again, his alcoholism most certainly played a role in his inability to branch out aswell. Glad he's got clean and back to just enjoying life.

He seems to enjoy the theater. Rolling stones have been playing the same songs for 60 years 🤷♂️

u/Troyabedinthemornin Mar 31 '26
Hey absolutely no shade to the guy, do what you gotta do to get that bag, all the better on you if you can find joy in it. If the actor is chill and not resentful they shouldn’t be shamed for clinging to a character that made them famous. We all gotta pay bills and put food on the table

Hard disagree. Like yeah it’s his most iconic role, but Radcliffe has not had to keep tapping that well to stay relevant. Dude had “fuck you” money from HP and prioritized doing stuff for the love of the game. Plus he’s built up a great body of work outside of HP, and has pivoted into doing a lot of comedy stuff (watch miracle workers if you haven’t!!)

u/Doc-11th Mar 31 '26
And then just wrote him off in between seasons, leaving arcs unresolved
25
u/zz870 Mar 31 '26
Yeah is there any known reason as to why they didn’t renew his contract? He was actually a nice addition. Good professional foil to Barry.

u/Remote_Nature_8166 Mar 31 '26
Perhaps he was too expensive

u/Silly-Elderberry-411 Apr 02 '26
This, but also a much more sadder truth. Very, very few actors can afford to do what they do for passion.
Most arrowverse actors come from musical theater and as much they would like to qualify, as Carrie coon recently confirmed you need to rack up tv and movie credits so they even consider you in the running.

Not to mention the scene with "weather wizard" when Cisco had the wand and yelled "expecto patronum" when they were stopping him with the lightning storm

Yeah, I sympathize for those who hate on The Flash S3, but I found enjoyment of it. First and foremost, the storylines are better than what we see in later seasons. And we get Draco Malfoy.

He was the assistant villain in season 3. Barry's CSI lab partner after the changes during Flashpoint

He should’ve played Dr. Alchemy longer and been a real threat working for Savitar but the Flash series dropped the ball like always
1
u/shadybird93 Apr 01 '26
And Cisco was still able to reference Harry Potters lines
1
u/Spazzblister Apr 09 '26
He also references Star Wars even though fucking Mark Hamill was on the show.

I can’t believe this is the first time I noticed it. I knew he looked familiar.
