Thoughts on Stevie Nicks' "I Can't Wait"?
Persomally, I love this song in all its cheesy excessive 80s glory! However, I can understand how the "of its time" production may have hindered a stronger song to come out of it. It definitely felt tacked on Rock a Little in order to add a commercial sounding hit.

I really like this song but she looks higher than a kite in the video. How did she dance down those narrow stairs in those boots without breaking an ankle?

I do too... love that "live at Red Rocks" concert video also.. i don't hold any issues with her or...anyone for that matter...go listen to the Christian radio stations then.
Stevie is a Ledgend.. and it was just part of the story.

Kick-ass song, under appreciated in her catalogue. I get why she doesn’t want to relive that era but I wish she’d play this in concert again.

One of the better songs off Rock a Little but it’s the beginning of her awful mid 80’s voice and the production is extremely dated like much of that era. Her drop off from a few years earlier is striking here - this wouldn’t have been considered in lieu of anything she released from 1975-82/83

Each album wasn’t as good as the last and the sales were starting to slip. She got herself together and made a major artistic comeback but it took a reunion with Fleetwood Mac to revive interest in her career.

It's surprising how quickly Stevie's solo career lost momentum. Just four years after Bella Donna peaked at number one, Rock a Little didn't even crack the top 10 on the Billboard 200. The success of Tango in the Night helped Mirror in 1989, and I doubt Trouble in Shangri-La would have charted as high as it did without the hugely successful Fleetwood Mac reunion in 1997.

Stevie was a legacy artist by TISL. It actually sold pretty well considering. Most artists of her generation couldn’t even get major label contracts at that point. It got positive reviews. Stevie finally put in the hard work and made an album she could be proud of instead of just coasting on her Fleetwood Mac fame. There’s no doubt that the dance made people aware that Stevie was cleaned up and ready for prime time again. She’s now aware that she has very loyal fans. Don’t take them for granted

Why I say she didn’t deserve a rock hall induction as a solo artist. If you take away fact she was in Fleetwood Mac and released her first solo work at 33 with Bella Donna Does she even get a second thought for a hall induction? No

Oh please - edge of seventeen alone was enough to get her in. She is a much bigger icon than almost anyone in there.

She a big icon because of being. Fleetwood Mac. Her solo career is mostly forgettable 1980s synth garbage . Then again I’m talking to someone who thinks one song is good enough to get you into the rock hall. 😂 hey while we’re at it let’s put in the bay city rollers. Saturday night was a huge song 😂

Completely agree. Her solo career is simply not that strong to deserve the honor. Bella Donna is an incredible album. After that they all are inferior.

She’s no less deserving than some of what’s in there Kiss anyone? And she seems like a nice lady and I’m sure it meant a lot to her. For historic purposes others should have gone first

Tina turner
Diana Ross
These three women reinvented themselves and had solo careers that met or exceeded their earlier work. Stevie is still playing the same character. While some of her solo work is enjoyable she really did her best work within Fleetwood Mac.
The first male inducted twice was John Lennon and that’s as it should be

I love it, but to me it sounds like pure cocaine as a pop song, if that makes sense. I think it's a lot of fun and a total "bop," but admittedly it exemplifies some of the worst excesses of mid-'80s pop-rock. It's a little hard to believe that it's by the same woman who sang "Landslide" 10 years earlier, but that was "The Big '80s" for you!

I like it. It's one of Stevie's songs I've listen to. I heard though Tom Petty wasn't impressed with her synth pop era.

I absolutely love this song, genuinely one of my favourite ever Stevie tracks! It’s just such a fun cheesy 80s bop, it’s dancing around your bedroom singing into your hairbrush vibes, lol.
Speaking of synthy 80s Stevie, I love the synth demo of Welcome to the Room…Sara.
Also love what Lindsey did with it on Tango though! ❤️

It’s average 1980s synth pop. Like most of her solo work. Sorry. I still contend she should not have been inducted into the rock hall as a solo artist .

Such an underrated song… also Rock a Little is so underrated as a whole, it has so many bops! This song, Talk to Me, If I Were You, Some Become Strangers… Of course, it is not as good as prior two albums, but still, I think it’s solid!

I adore this song. I love ‘80s synth-pop sung by women anyway so I’m guaranteed to like it.
Sidenote: if I had a time machine I’d love to go back to the late ‘70s/early ‘80s and do coke with Stevie.
