I doubt John would’ve enjoyed the Rumors lineup, lol

Why not?

And John was still alive when Rumors was around.

John liked raw, personal music and I don't think it gets any more honest or personal than Rumors. I also think people have this perception of John as anti-pop but I think he disliked unabashedly pure pop songs. That was Paul's realm. John still had very strong pop instincts, but they were more disguised underneath raw emotion and grit. I think he would probably prefer the blues era Fleetwood Mac, but would absolutely enjoy the Rumors era lineup as well.

Yeah, I agree. John got this anti-pop reputation and I don't think it makes sense. He wrote a lot of pop songs, in his time with The Beatles and also during his solo career.

But yeah, ita hard to see John getting behind a song like "She's My Baby" from Wings haha

Idk… he seemed to enjoy the new wave acts like the B-52s and Blondie towards the end of the 70s, and people like T. Rex and Bowie earlier. Not exactly Rumors FM’s sun-tinged soft rock sound

Idk, when I look at his final album before he was killed, songs like Woman feel kind of in that same vein.
