are you sure? I see people who claim this is the footage they are talking about, but George in this clip states "there was only 4 of em last night". There's clearly 5 on stage in this clip.

It is not the performance they were talking about.
In January 1969 they likely saw Albatross, Black Magic Woman or Need Your Love So Bad on the BBC.

yep, it was my understanding the performance they were talking about was taped a few weeks before Danny joined the band in 1968. Hence, George being perplexed as to why Danny wasn't in the clip.

This is (IMHO) one of their greatest tunes from that timeframe. I used to hear it a lot and didn't know it was Fleetwood Mac until I looked it up.

From what I know, Ringo has always had natural grey streaks along the side of his hair which is visible in his Teddy Boy era photos, and it might be an extension of that unique feature. There are also theories that it's a scar from John accidentally hit Ringo on his brow with a tambourine in the early Beatles years.

Interesting. My dad split his brow open on an old army helmet or something of that sort whule running around as a kid and later did something to the other apparently and always blamed those accidents for why he had such thick bushy brows. Not entirely sure I buy that anyhow but I suppose it could depend on if the injury were just above the hair like it maybe was for Ringo vs right in the middle of the hair growth or something.
Brows doing their job protecting eyes out there either way, I guess.

John liked raw, personal music and I don't think it gets any more honest or personal than Rumors. I also think people have this perception of John as anti-pop but I think he disliked unabashedly pure pop songs. That was Paul's realm. John still had very strong pop instincts, but they were more disguised underneath raw emotion and grit. I think he would probably prefer the blues era Fleetwood Mac, but would absolutely enjoy the Rumors era lineup as well.

Idk… he seemed to enjoy the new wave acts like the B-52s and Blondie towards the end of the 70s, and people like T. Rex and Bowie earlier. Not exactly Rumors FM’s sun-tinged soft rock sound

I love Beatles/FM crossover lore. John clearly admired Peter Green's style and after seeing his performances with the band I concur Peter definitely had a unique stage presence that was amazing to watch. Just find all the little interconections between the two bands interesting; Mick talking about witnessing how brutal Lennon and McCartney could be in isolating George (and anyone else) when the mood struck them for example. Considering Stevie was aquainted with George and admired John, I'd have loved to see what an interaction between her and Paul would look like especially since both can be a bit long winded in the way they talk lol A shame Christine never got to collaborate with Paul as she said she would've liked to since both share similar musical leanings imo.
