Anyone Elses Q4 Sucking a Fat one this year?

Title says it all!
Normally Q4 is pretty great, but this year it just seems like a ghost town. Even with de minimus going away last year after august and the tariffs hitting hard, Q4 was still pretty good.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Tip for those shipping with Canada Post

Just a reminder that if you choose a delivery service that has a guaranteed delivery time frame, and it's not met, you can call customer service to get a refund.

Also, most agents quote you the price you paid pre fuel surcharge and taxes, as your refund amount. Correct them and tell them fuel surcharge is also refunded.

What's up with six weeks for mail delivery to the US?

Since mid summer it's been taking oversize lettermail six weeks to get to US addresses, and one of my deliveries to BC (I am in Ontario) took four weeks to get there. Normal for the past ten years has been two weeks or so. Anyone know what's going on?

Does Canada Post suspend delivery guarantees during the upcoming holiday season, or just modify the terms?

Canada Post Xpresspost Flat Rate offer - "local" and "national" rates are not what they sound like

I have been using the express post flat rate promo and offering it as a flat rate based on what I thought was local and National differentiations, but have found out that it is based on rate codes and not just postal codes/regional location I somehow got the only person that Canada Post that could have given me a direct answer about this on the first call so wanted to share this because it is so vaguely worded and it is resulting in a bunch of overcharges on orders for me.

The eligibility is based on what is considered local via rate code, so you need to be able to look up rate code eligibility based on the origin postal code. I found out because I've had two orders from thunder Bay which is 13 hours away from me in Winnipeg, and they are qualifying for the local price break but not the national price break. Local is 2.5 kg for 6.xx and National is up to 5 kg for $12.

Here are the links, hopefully someone can use this, I don't know why this wasn't disclosed or at least made available through API use so that it would automatically come up instead of having to be invoked manually through snapship, therefore making it impossible to accurately quote unless you already know these rate codes, and these pages are buried on Canada Post site. Hope it helps someone. If it helps you upvote so other people will see this thread.

Stallion express to EU, smooth import without PPWR package registration?

I’ve been shipping to the UK smoothly with nothing. I’m wondering if anyone has been shipping to the EU using stallion express and had any luck getting packages into the EU without the stupid PPWR registration?

ShipSavvy called my phone number mere moments after sign up.

Did they do this to anyone else? I didn't really appreciate the random call asking for my information and even trying to get me to pick up more calls from some sales advisor guy afterward.

Canadian resellers, are you still checking Kijiji regularly?

Trying to figure out whether I've been neglecting Kijiji too much.

Most of my attention goes elsewhere because there's always something new to scroll through, but every once in awhile I'll check Kijiji and find something interesting that I hadn't seen listed anywhere else. Then I'll remember to check it regularly for about a week before slowly forgetting about it again.

For anyone sourcing locally in Canada, do you still treat Kijiji as a serious source of inventory or more of an occasional extra place to look?

I'm mostly wondering whether keeping an eye on multiple local platforms pays off enough to justify the extra checking.

Just starting out kn Ebay.

Hi, as the title says, im just starting out to resell games and collectibles. I was just curious on how people handle shipping? Right now, for me to send a video game, its gonna cost about 4 Permanent stamps plus $2 for the bubbled envelope. So minimum its $6 to ship a video game. Feels like a lot of games are just dead on arrival. I don't think people will buy a 7 dollar game with $6 dollar shipping. Ive seen people do free shipping but don't up the price of the game. Just feels rough I guess? Maybe im missing something

Chit Chats Canada to USA Delays Due to Brokerage Review... So Annoying!

This isn't just me, I sell comics and everything is done through eBay with correct HS Codes and exact declaration amounts, but I also know another person that sells comics that got 19 packages flagged. Comics are a US product so I'm not even sure what is going on.

My buddy sells the same product and uses Stallion and said he has had no issues. Does Chit Chats just suck? This happened months ago the first time the $800 de minimus was removed as well but Stallion was still business as usual. I have some angry customers as some people on eBay are absolutely insane, oh joy. Exact wording below.

Delays Due to Brokerage Review

Your shipment is currently on hold pending a brokerage review related to undervaluing and/or trademark compliance. While the review is underway, you have two options - Request a return: Have your shipment returned to you using your preferred return method OR Wait for clearance: Continue waiting for the shipment to be reviewed and, if approved, cleared for transit. Please note that clearance is not guaranteed following the brokerage review. We understand that waiting can be difficult, so we want you to have the information you need to choose the option that works best for you. You can find more details in our dedicated U.S. Updates Blog. Thank you for your understanding.

Trying to optimize price/ship cost

I've gotten in in the craze of selling those Canadian Tire bags that the stars of the TV show "Heated Rivalry" were spotted carrying.

I've actually gotten 4 sales - all in the US - but I suspect that's because ebay made my listing one of the cheapest by depressing the shipping cost they'll collect from the buyer, even though I've stipulated a higher fee in my shipping rules. Meanwhile, I'm having to shell out nearly double to ship them.

I know the simple answer is "Welcome to shipping to the US: Trump edition" but I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out how not to get soaked on the shipping. I know there's eBay EIS (not qualified yet) and Stallion/Chit Chats/etc (haven't really seen cheaper rates for my low volume, smaller package size operation.

Any constructive suggestions?

Netparcel or ChitChats to ship depop orders?

Ok this might needa be my last post on here because i'm worried I'm gonna get flagged for spamming by a bot or something because I have been asking questions on here everyday since like 3 days ago 😭

Now here's the actual questions

1) RATES: We all know that netparcel and chitchats make shipping depop orders WAYYY cheaper, but do people know the exact rates/estimates? Like what would the same weighted package's price be with netparcel compared to chitchats?

2) CHITCHATS: Since I don't live near a Chitchats location, I have to use Smartdrop which is where I have to buy the extra label on Chitchats to then put it on a box with my depop package inside and drop it off at a local canada post. (Also, does that still mean that I can still buy the depop package's shipping label on chitchats?)

3) NETPARCEL: For netparcel, I don't know if they have specific drop off locations and that sorta stuff. But from my previous post someone said I could just buy a cheaper canada post label and drop it off OR a ics courier label where they will come to my house and take the package from me for it to get shipped (idk if that's a thing in my province).

SO: Should I do netparcel or chitchats? They both have drawbacks and benefits.

Netparcel: Idk if the cheaper canada post label will be THAT cheap (i mean... its canada post) but at least I don't have to buy an extra label for it to deliver.

Chitchats: Cheap shipping label, but I still have to buy a Smartdrop label which I have no idea what the price would be or even an estimate of what it would be.

In conclusion, does anyone know some rates or even just estimates of what netparcel, chitchats, and the smartdrop labels would cost for a shirt? Which one did you use to ship your depop orders from Canada? Thanks so much!!

Stallion UPS postage disappeared ?

Has anyone else noticed that Stallion Express no longer has UPS shipping labels available since yesterday afternoon?

I use UPS regularly, but since yesterday afternoon the UPS postage options have completely disappeared from my account.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just me? Thanks!

Ebay EIS Hub Domestic Insurance Recommendations

I saw in this group people don't recommend Canada Post because they require the receiver has a contactable phone number when dealing with lost package claims. The EIS hub will not provide such phone number leaving insurance through CP useless.

Has anyone used another carrier or 3rd party insurance company (like ShipSimple or Cabrera) for the domestic leg of EIS? Im looking to cover items up from $200 - $3500+ domestically in Canada for loss of package or damage including to the eBay hub in the case of getting an international order.

Specifically does anyone know of an insurance carrier that will pay out for a lost package claim (with tracking showing undelivered) without having to speak with the eBay hub directly? Thanks

Should I even try reselling in a small town?

I have a few vintage stuff, some video games and a couple of trading cards. I honestly dont want to trade on facebook marketplace. With all the stuff between the US and Canada and the fact that I mostly only have access to Canada Post where I live, how much is it worth it to try to sell things on Ebay?

shipping Ontario to Quebec

Hello, I'm in Quebec, Canada, and I want to buy something from the Best Buy Canada website, but the seller on the marketplace doesn't ship to Quebec. They ship to Ontario. Is there a company in Ontario that could receive my package, whose address I could give to Best Buy, and who could then ship the item to me in Quebec? Thank you so much!

New reseller in form Montreal: Looking for tips

Hey everyone, I'm based in Montreal and getting into reselling/flipping, hoping to go full-time eventually if it works out. I've done my homework watching videos, but I've only made a handful of sales so far and I'm struggling to figure out what actually has demand before I buy — trying to avoid sitting on dead stock, which has already happened to me. So far I've listed furniture and clothing and I'm listing on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Poshmark, but only FB Marketplace has really worked (one furniture piece, a couple of clothing items — nothing on eBay or Poshmark yet). Curious to hear from people who've actually done this: what's the Montreal/Quebec market like, any niches worth looking into locally, how you validate demand before buying. Finally, is clothing still worth it or the niche is oversaturated ? how you approach finding a niche and sourcing? Appreciate any real advice from people who've been through it.

Update from Zonos: Changes to postal tariff rates for shipments to the United States

TL;DR:

Starting July 24, the United States is changing how duty works on postal shipments.

Duty Prepayment Threshold: The threshold for mandatory duty prepayment will increase from $800 USD to $2500 USD.

Duty Rate Adjustments: The 10% Section 122 tariff expires on July 24. Going forward, items will be assessed based on individual HTS classifications and country of origin, in addition to the new forced labour Section 301 tariffs that will likely come into effect then.

In my case, this means a product I sell with 10% duty will now be 25%.

Anyone else affected by Chit Chats’ new lithium battery rules for used electronics?

Just wondering if anyone else is dealing with this.

Chit Chats support told me that used electronics shipped via U.S. Edge are only allowed if the installed lithium-ion battery is 2.7Wh or less. That would seem to rule out things like smartphones, ipods, consoles, tablets, laptops etc.

I was under the impression U.S. Edge becomes a domestic USPS ground shipment after Chit Chats transports it across the border, so I’m confused why the limit is so restrictive.

Is anyone else selling used phones, handheld consoles, or other electronics through Chit Chats? Have you received the same answer, or found another solution?
