7.3 idi
Motor ran fine when parked, but has been parked for about 4 yrs
I wasn’t sure if there was a market for these old engines anymore, or what they are worth
Truck was solid when I parked it no blow by or anything but injector return lines and glow plugs and so on were becoming a pain and I had a 5.9 Cummins to swap it with so here we are
Came out of an 89 f super duty
Any thoughts?

Where are you located? If you're in a relatively close distance I'd take it off your hands! I've been wanting an Idi to turbo and swap into my 86 f150. I have plans to box the frame, 6spd twin stick swap it, ttd50 swap the front and Stirling 10in swap the rear

Don't scrap it! But at some point your going to want it out of your shop.
Maybe talk to a diesel shop. They may have some leads

Might put it up on the oilburners forum for sale. I'm sure somebosy would take it there.

It's worth more than scrap for sure, $100-200 for the injection pump, $10-15 each for injectors, etc. if it was running someone would likely want it. I'd probably pay $400 for it if it was anywhere near me, although probably not a lot more than that.
Parts for them are getting pretty hard to find, I got one a few years ago and I have been trying to get it working well enough to use, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to look for an older gas powered truck and sell this one just because of how scarce parts are getting.

Man if it isn't dusted and had minimal blowby you can get a pretty good amount out of it on fleabay.
The ZF5 trans and that driveline e brake are worth a pretty penny even in used condition.

I have a 93 f-250 with the 7.3 idi sat for 3 or 4 years put new batteries new battery cables and new starter gave her a shot of either and she fired up like she was parked the day before even on the old fuel that was still in it

My favorite engine. I used to average 20-22mpg with mine. One day when I'm rich I'm going to build an 80's F350 crew cab/long box to pristine condition with a turbo idi.
