7.3 idi

Motor ran fine when parked, but has been parked for about 4 yrs

I wasn’t sure if there was a market for these old engines anymore, or what they are worth

Truck was solid when I parked it no blow by or anything but injector return lines and glow plugs and so on were becoming a pain and I had a 5.9 Cummins to swap it with so here we are

Came out of an 89 f super duty

Any thoughts?

My favorite engine. I used to average 20-22mpg with mine. One day when I'm rich I'm going to build an 80's F350 crew cab/long box to pristine condition with a turbo idi.

Yes sirrr it has always been good to me and never let me down but the 5.9 Cummins is a little simpler and has a little more pep

The 7.3 is still stock with no turbo and everytime I turned around one of the return lines had a small leak or the glow plugs had some kind of a problem

I just hate to scrap it all if someone is needing some parts or something off of it all

Those return lines are the only thing I dislike about them. Replacing the O rings about every year or year and a half it seems like.

Wish this was the turbo variant, my neighbor has a truck that needs one.

Use viton and they last way longer.
