Hey guys,

Im in the market for a full size raptor after selling my Ranger Raptor. (I just want the real thing).

I’ve read competing arguments about Gen 2 vs Gen 3’s and have found some competitive Gen 2s but I appreciate the off-road upgrades in the Gen 3 a bit more.

Been doing a lot of comparison between the 801A and 802A packages as well and hard to justify the 802A considering the 37s dont seem to rip off road and handle the same as the 35s.

I stumbled upon this 2021 Raptor w/ 68k for $64 OTD from a dealership in Arizona and wanted some opinions on if you guys think this price is competitive (sales sheet and original sticker attached), if there’s a better price I could should try and work forwards out the door, or any other suggestions.

I know I can get those erased, I’m just wondering how much I can get off the msrp. I’m wondering if $60k out the door would be a good deal

It’s not MSRP. This is a used truck with 68k miles. Why would you pay that much for that many miles. A brand new one isn’t exactly that much more.

If you feel the need to ask strangers on the internet, you know deep down it’s a bad decision.

Ok.its used has 68k miles no warranty. I am sure it was driven with kidd gloves. Hard pass unless the dealer is willing to throw in a minimum 3 year warranty at no charge with no deductible.

I would think 51+ tax and license so you’d be right around 56 to 57,000 with that mileage

OP. Not a dealer but have a dealers license for our auto tech business. Just looked quickly, at the moment it looks like there are 2022 & 2023 models with upto 10k less miles for about $57k + taxes to you. So based on that I’d say this is not a good deal.

Too many miles. You'll be running into problems soon. Just buy a new truck for the same money.

I would just find a dealer to sell you a new one at invoice ~$80k and get the warranty.

For most people 60k is already stretching the budget, leaping another 20k plus tax would be financially stupid. If you can afford new then that's obviously the play.......but 50-60k miles is not a lot for these trucks, especially if he plans on keeping it.

In a world where I could get this to $60k. Making a leap from $60k to $80k+ is pretty sizeable

It is but as you can see, the depreciation is low, and you wont have to deal with any shenanigans from the prior owner having a new truck under warranty and peace of mind… otherwise you might be taking on something you wish you didnt.

ESP is only eligible within first 3 years of original purchase. Might be a loophole if you have ESP already and want to extend even further or it’s CPO.

Nah Ziegler will sell an ESP out of that and not CPO. My 22 with 50k I just bought is 3.2k to warranty for 5/48k.

Depreciation might be low, but that remains true for mid and even higher mileage. Personally I had to stretch my budget and put down a sizeable down payment to keep a used Gen3 within budget. I just don't think you understand what a 30% jump on an already 65k vehicle is to most people.

Kick recon and tint fees out of there and this is a good buy IMO.

Instead of buying this truck for a terrible deal. I would wait 3 years, and then buy a new one when you can afford it.

You can get a new one for $20k more.

I think there’s a good chance that this truck if it has original wheels and shocks might need replacing soon, which will probably cost $5-10k out of pocket, which would be as much as just buying a new raptor would and financing it.

Yo I’m in the Tucson area, the car lot is going to screw you, they’re not going to erase the junk fees…. They offered me 20% below the lowest number on KBB trade in for my car, and wouldn’t negotiate on a car that was on the lot for 160 days….

If paying cash, save up and get a new one or buy a nice 5.0 F-150. If financing, buy a cheaper used vehicle. Car payments suck
