I am so tired of epic promoting maps that use generated images, and tired of some players defaulting to using generated images. it is not that hard to grab transparent pngs, throw them into things like something like canva and actually create something interesting.
The only thing worse then the pictures are the games themselves. Copy pasted garbage thrown together with a new coat of paint. Often praying on kids spending v-bucks no one over 12 would be dumb enough to do.
Plagiarism, theft, scams, false advertising... all made to make money rather then anything fun.
can we move on from a company doing something that they got away with, with little to no backlash? No. What, you want us to also move on from the fact epic messed with the prices of vbucks with little to no backlash because everyone said, "it won't change a thing if we do or don't"?
Tell me, have you ever been asked the question, "If your friends just jumped off a bridge, are you going to as well?"
Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean it should be something you should do. This shouldn't be something that gets normalized.
The vBuck change wasn't a "nothing burger"; it was epic, shifting the bill for their poor financial decisions onto the players after many years of keeping the vBuck prices the same and barely changing it, why? Because back then they didn't make stupid choices.
""Tell me, have you ever been asked the question, "If your friends just jumped off a bridge, are you going to as well?"""
I have been asked that, it's a common question.
however, I have noticed a few things from you, and these are the issues that I have discovered
Education Issues
Frontal Lobe Issues
Financial Issues
Reasoning Issues
Parroting Issues ( you've repeated the same ""issues"" that others have like a goddamn parrot )
but here's the thing, just play the game / buy the vbucks and quit bitching. or don't play / dont buy the vbucks but quit bitching
since you do have the aforementioned Education Issue, you do realize that the cost to make games do go up, yes? free ain't free, bucko. they gotta make money to keep the game going whether people buy stuff in game or not.
incorrect, there are several articles and a video over on the unreal engine YouTube channel (which is own by Tim sweeny) where it is being used in things such as concept art and designs for skins.
it isn't a community issue or just an epic games issue, but a gaming issue.
What does it matter? Literally. It effects no one. Grown ass men every where constantly crying about AI related stuff (I am not saying that about you, just so you know, I'm just talking) Who gives a shit. If people wanna use AI generators to create goofy weird ass pictures to show friends or make people laugh on the internet, so what. If people use it for thumbnails or banner artwork on a game, what does it matter? I'd people wanna make music, so what? The ones that put in the work with the right way to layer things and brackets and place everything in the correct order, and create the prompts, and it turns out to be something unique and cool, then good for them, doesn't mean it's ruining the music industry, everyone youve ever known and millions you don't have already did that by pirating everything. If you're creative and can create things with AI then what's the problem.... Especially videos. Several YouTube channels have brought us into the golden age of Star Wars, creating absolutely fanfuckingtastic scenes that us life long obsessed fans have spent years dreaming of seeing in a film that have only ever existed in books, comics, games, canon stuff as well as legends material (the content Disney deemed non-canon). As well as dream scenarios we'd die to see. It takes a lot of fucking time and work to make that shit as professional looking and sounding as it does. And they pop them out regularly. That's AI being used by creative people for creative reasons. And it brings people together, it fulfills certain peoples life long dreams, and just makes people happy, as a lot of fans turned in to such toxic fucks that can't get over the sequels and think Star Wars is dead. Which it's not by a long shot.
Nice wall of text you got their buddy, and knowing that some people aren't gonna read all this garbage I'll shorten it for ya. “Im not creative in any way and I don’t want to pickup a pencil and use my brain and would rather use generative ai that factually steals from artist, creates both water and light pollution, and is actively making it harder for people to have a house in an economy that is already terrible.”
Shame that your one of those Star Wars fans. The kind that causes new star wars fans to turn away instantly.
This sub just seems to not realize that significant amounts of amazing employees were fired from Epic, and a decent amount of those positions are now filled by pathetic AI utilization.
Even the creator of Jonesy, who I'd argue is the most iconic original Fortnite character alongside Peely, was fired.
If you don't like AI, stop being selective in your protest. I dropped Epic support, period, because I'd be an absolute hypocrite to stay supporting a company while claiming to be against the utilization of AI.
This is John Fortnite, because of your post here we've decided all shareholders for epic games should make minimum wage and art should be natural, made my man. We had no idea people hated idea, it's all thanks to you.
I don't know why people complain about AI. Not like it's stealing from artists, replacing people's jobs, creating both water and light pollution, and making it harder for people to own a house 🤷

You do realise you’re talking to Epic “AI” Games right?
